Re: The Bad News Bears
There's always room on the Bengals for Cedric Benson, formerly of the Bears...

Re: The Bad News Bears
I'm happy to see the Bears do this... they're starting to show that everyone on the team has to account for themselves... or they have to run away from the accident before police get there.. (Lance Briggs).
Besides.. he sucked this year.. he was all hyped to come in and dominate, and then he laid in egg. John Clayton had a good line in his ESPN article.. He's had almost as many DUI's (two) has he had TD's last year (four).

I figured he did with the way he plays...hehehehehepez wrote:How many Bears fans wish Grossie had a coke habit?

I'd happily take Alexander over Benson... truth is.. the other Adrian Peterson has never been that bad.. they need to address their O Line and that shitty QB first though.... oh.. and that guy named Urlacher...

Re: The Bad News Bears
I agree with you on the Offensive Line. Those are some of the most underrated positions in football. I don't care if you're the fastest RB in the world, you ain't going anywhere if the line isn't opening up holes for you. Show me a successful QB in the NFL, and I'll show you an offensive line that gives him time in the pocket to throw.cardinal5150 wrote:I'd happily take Alexander over Benson... truth is.. the other Adrian Peterson has never been that bad.. they need to address their O Line and that shitty QB first though.... oh.. and that guy named Urlacher...
Re: The Bad News Bears
The Bears are a grease fire. No QB, no RB, no receivers, very young TE's, the more I think of it, they have a decent kicker, kick returner, and above par defense and that is it. I think their crop of RB's, WR's and QB's are hands down the worst in the league. It's a good thing they play the Lions twice every year.

When the passing game blows, the running game is more than likely not going to be that great.
Good luck, Bears.

I say good riddance to Bumsen. And hello to Matt Forte, who has been compared to Edgerrin James. We will see.

I'd like to be a Bears fan, but man they sure imploded... after they blew the SB.

Forte is supposed to be pretty good. There were draft day rumors floating around that the Colts would nab him in the first round if he would have fallen that much.

Re: The Bad News Bears
Makes me feel a little better about their running game if the Colts were looking at him.. they've had pretty good luck with the last three big guys (Faulk, James, Addai). Wasn't Dickerson in there before Faulk?
The Bears biggest problem stems from their QB though in all honesty.. no one thinks Rexy can do the job so defenses can just go straight at him without worrying because they know he'll make a mistake and throw a pick or fumble. If they don't draft a QB next year or get one in free agency I'm going to have to seriously consider ditching my allegiance to them.

Why, I'm glad you asked...
The pedigree of leading rushers in the Indianapolis era are:
- Randy McMillan
- Eric Dickerson
- Anthony Johnson
- Roosevelt Potts
- Marshall Faulk
- Edgerrin James
- Domonic Rhodes (for the season Edge was hurt)
- Joseph Addai

How can you forget the Sanders-esque moves of Rosie Potts?

Re: The Bad News Bears
Why oh why does this NOT surprise me? Bengals sign Cedric Benson...
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/11002706
I think if you look real hard, there's a sign above the Bengals Clubhouse that says "Redeemer's R Us."

Re: The Bad News Bears
Well Cincy, I hope this works out, but it sure seems strange. Benson has done absolutely nothing for the Bears. He held out as a rookie, because you know, he's such a big time player. And then he sucked as a running back, and got into trouble off the field. But other than that, he's been okay.

...not to mention the fact that he's been arrested twice on alcohol-related charges in the past year. Hell, I'm guessing the contract includes stock in the team.
