Sports Pet Peeves
I really hate at the end of football games when the players on opposing sides go up to each other and give each other hugs and they're all smiling and laughing and buddy buddy. Pardon me, but it just makes me sick. Especially in bitter rivalries. Act like you hate the other team for me, would ya? Show me you care. Show me you want to win the damn game rather than pat the other guy's arse after the game.

A little bitter after another Bengals loss?
Sorry, really. At least there's the Colts. Oh, wait, never mind.

The last 2 minutes of any basketball game.
Foul. Timeout. Foul. Timeout. Foul. Foul. Foul. Timeout. Foul. Timeout. Foul. Foul. Foul. Foul.
I f*cking hate it and it makes me despise the sport. People talk about how long baseball games are and how boring they are, but how the hell can you say basketball ISN'T boring with that type of shit?

That about sums it up for me also.
Re: Sports Pet Peeves
Baseball teams that change pitchers almost every batter late in the ballgame. If the one team sends up a lefthanded batter to face a righthanded pitcher, bam, the other team brings in a lefty (and vice versa). Just boring. I swear, some of these managers manage games like it's the 7th game of the World Series.

This bothers me sometimes but every game counts and it's all about strategy and numbers so it doesn't bother me so much.

Fouling and time outs in basketball are not strategy and playing the numbers game too?

If it only happened in close games, I'd agree. However, it happens in EVERY game, whether a team is up by 2 points or up by 20.

Tell that to Carson Palmer who had his knee twisted like a pretzel by Kimo Von Knee Breaker, er Oehlhoffen.pez wrote:Dude... the Steelers arent bad...
Tell that to this year's first round pick Keith Rivers who had his jaw broken and is out for the rest of the year after Hines Ward blindsided him with a hit after the play had passed him. The officials didn't call a penalty on it because they were paid off (or was it b/c it was Ed Hochuley's crew???).
I just simply HATE the squeelers.

Cincy, undo your knickers, the knot's too tight. It's just a freakin game.
I'm guessing the Steelers beat your team or something like that?
Talk about needing a penalty for "unsportsmanlike conduct"

Re: Sports Pet Peeves
I guess the only thing I can say to that is imagine if Peyton had gone down on a perceived 'dirty' play partway thru his rookie season when the Colts were on their way to a 3-13 year...you'd be pissed too b/c that takes away the 'learning' experience that that rookie player gets in preparation for (hopefully) a better season the next year. Granted, QBs and LBs are entirely different positions; however, it still pisses me off all the same.Fleek wrote:Keith Rivers is out! There goes the season!

I know. I'm just playing with ya.
That team has serious issues. There's no reason why they shouldn't win at least 9 or 10 games per year with that offense and supposedly a Defensive coach.

Re: Sports Pet Peeves
Oh, I think there's a very good reason/person...Mike Brown. His father he is not. Mike Brown has been the one constant thru this whole charade of 18 years of futility. He refuses to hire a general manager. He refuses to devote resources into scouting. For awhile there, the coaches were the scouts, so come draft day, they are ill-prepared. Poor Marvin Lewis has been "Bengaldized" and I'm afraid Carson Palmer is not too far behind.Fleek wrote:That team has serious issues. Yes, they have some good offensive weapons, but the Offensive Line has been offensive. I don't care if you have Walter Payton in his prime in the backfield, he wouldn't go anywhere with the line they have right now. Now, if Palmer hadn't been hurt, maybe, just maybe, they'd have a win or two under their belt. Show me a great QB or RB, and I'll show you a team that has a dominating Offensive Line. I can only hope that next year with the first or second draft pick the Bengals will seemingly get, that they draft the best Offensive Lineman in the country. But knowing them, they'll screw it up.
