I know there are a few NFL/FFB knowledgable fans on here. Tell me what you think about a trade of Brett Favre for Peyton Manning. I'm not telling you yet who gets what guy. This trade would obviously be happening right now in a non-dynasty league (no keepers from year to year).

The first thing I would look at is the schedule each has to play and go from there. I'm not sure, but don't the Colts have a pretty rough schedule this year?

Other than that, I'd say it's pretty much a toss-up.

Compare schedules, but first, compare receiving options.

Harrison/Wayne/Gonzalez/Clark > Cotchery/Coles/Stuckey/Baker

I say absolutely no way unless this becomes a 2-for-2 trade with the person getting Favre upgrading at another position.

Well, at first I'd say look at projected stats for the next 4 games for both players and use that as a rule of thumb. If the spread between points is greater than +2 advantage per game then go with the trade.

Dunno about the 2 for 2 deal. The big name players are not always the best scoring players.

Dang, you need help! Very Happy Suddenly I'm not so scared of the uncles anymore.

Projected Stats mean SQUAT.

Example A: LaDanian Tomlinson

And I never said anything about big name players. I said 'upgrade'.

Now come on... They at least take into account the teams being played, and the general quality of that team's defense, as well as which players are likely to get play time, etc.

I feel weird saying I trust the stats more than I trust a news blurb that says "so and so feels like he can take on the world". I'm not a "NFL" guy, I know virtually nothing about players and I've risen from last place to 5th in 5 games, losing only once to The Scary Uncles since I took over Iber's team.

Maybe I'm just lucky. And look at my team... it's nothing special.

In a trade between Manning and Favre... the guy that gets Favre gets the better deal. We're nearly halfway through the season and Manning has put up decent numbers twice. I dont thing the AFC South is going to get any tougher, whereas the Jets and the Bills are topping the otherwise anemic East (sans three surgeries Tom Brady)...

If I were the guy offering Manning, I would try and talk the Farve guy into a 2nd/3rd tier RB/WR, or even a top tier D...

I'm in a competitive money league. There are 12 teams in the league and I am in first place in my division and second place overall (15 pts out of 1st). I have Favre right now. The guy who has Manning is frustrated with his performance this year. He says he wants to deal Manning for another qb, which doesn't make sense because his other qb is Phillip Rivers. Manning has strugled so far, no doubt, and very likely could over the next few weeks (@Tenn, NE, @Pitt, Hou, @ SD). But what really opens my eyes to the thought is weeks 13-16, fantasy football playoff weeks. Colts play @Cle, Cin, Det, @Jax. The Super Bowl winner gets $400, runner up gets $100. Division winner gets $50 and overall points winner gets $100.

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 K, 1 DEF, and 1 FLEX-wr or rb (TE's are considered WR's)

My team:
QB: Favre, Orton
RB: Portis, S. Jackson, B. Jacobs, D. McAllister
WR: Plax Burres, Benard Berrian, Antonio Bryant
TE: Jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez
K: Rob Bironas
DEF: Baltimore, Chicago

I have a few week 9 lineup questions for you. I'm pretty sure I have made up my mind, just want some opinions.

QB (pick one)
Brett Favre @ Buf
Kyle Orton vs. DET

WR/TE (pick 3)
Benard Berrian vs. Hou
Antonio Bryant @ KC
Plaxico Burress vs. Dal
Tony Gonzalez vs. TB

DEF (pick one)
Chi vs. Det
Bal @ Cle

I think sit plax because he's a whiny bitch these days, the defense choice to me is almost a toss up... I think Baltimore will outphysical Cleveland more than Chicago will detroit...

I say PLAY Plax because Dallas has a beat up defense and he's a stud on the field, whether he's a bitch or not.

As for defenses, I'd look at the offensive weapons for the opposing teams...

Chi/Det - Detroit has Rudi Johnson, Dan Orlovsky, Calvin Johnson
Cle/Bal - Cleveland has Jamal Lewis, Derek Anderson, Braylon Edwards, Donte Stallworth

Chicago's playing at home in the 'cold' weather against a dome team.

Baltimore's playing on the road.

My original thought was to start

Orton
Plax, Berrian, Bryant
Chi

I like the Orton vs. Det matchup better than the Favre vs. Buf matchup.

Plax is a bitch, but he's good and he's playing agians the Boys who are weak in the secondary.
Berrian is coming off a 3 game TD streak with 80+ yards per game.
Bryant becuase KC sucks.

I like Gonzales becuse again, KC sucks, and they have a young qb. A struggling offense will look to the TE and RB for short passes opposed to the deep ball to the WR's.

I also have Jason Witten, but I'm going to leave him on the bench with his broken ribs.

The defense is a toss up. I've tried to trade one away a couple of times but people in my league are being bitches about it, so I choose to hang on to both and let others try to get by with the Saints or Texans DEF. I'm leaning towards Chi because Det is a grease fire and Cle has potential to do some damage.
