Rockets' Winning Streak Capped

Post  Aggie Transplant on Wed Mar 19, 2008 10:07 am

Ah, well, I can't imagine anyone else here will care much, but I was bummed that the Rockets lost to the Celtics last night. They hung in there for a while, but fell apart in the 2nd half.

I was pretty amazed they kept the streak going after Yao was out for the season. Still, next to the Lakers' streak in the early 70s of 33 games, the Rockets' streak of 22 games is the second longest in pro basketball. Pretty frickin' amazing.

And this was done mostly w/out Yao Ming, right? That is impressive. Kind of like the Colts running off 15 wins in a row w/out Peyton I guess.

I believe they lost Yao right around win #14 or 15...correct me if I'm wrong.

Could be. I don't follow basketball that closely except for what I hear on the Sports Headlines on ESPN Radio.

I think that's right about Yao.

I root for the Rockets, but can't say I'm a devoted fan during most of the season. Pro basketball season is way too long for me to care about most of it, but this streak has been pretty exciting.

I think my Pacers have a streak of consecutive days without a player being arrested. It's probably not 22 days, though... Mad

Anyway, that's some pretty impressive winning by the Rockets.

It was....... I thought they'd cave w/o Yao. Nice to see they didn't.
Of course, now they've lost two in a row...

I believe they could conceivably still miss the playoffs. That would be something. Agreed though that it was quite an accomplishment.
