Didn't he or someone in the show say something about a Grasshopper?

You young pups! When his character would have a flashback to his youth learning kung fu, the "master" called him Grasshopper.

I read one time that Bruce Lee wanted the part and was quite upset when they gave it to Carradine. I can't say I blame him. After all, the character is a "Chinaman".
