Cubs/Reds Series

Post  Cincy Fan 44 on Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:51 pm

Pretty good series so far this weekend. Good pitching...excellent defense...one win for each team. For any cubs fan that is watching the game on TV, pay close attention...there are "World Series Banners" from the past 35 years hanging in Great American Ball Park to signify winning the World Series. Just wanted to make sure you knew what those are. I realize they can be foreign objects to you. Razz

There's three from the last 35 years and five championships all together. All have been won since the cubs last won the world series.

Says the fan of a team that has been under .500 what, 8 years in a row now? Speaking of banners, unless you were a Reds fan during the Clinton era, you wouldn't know what an NL Central winner banner looks like. Razz

Nice try Mark. But you know, unless you're about 110 years old, you would have no idea what a championship cubs team looks like in person. Oh wait, maybe you saw one in 2003 until Steve Bartman intervened. Or maybe you saw one in '84 until Leon Durham pulled a Bill Buckner before Bill Buckner pulled a Bill Buckner (if you follow). Would like me to pour some more salt??? Razz
