I would guess CBS will do nothing. He's the big dawg at CBS. Like it or not, when you're the big man certain things happen differently than for normal schmoes.

Verizon has scruples. The entertainment industry does not.

Not speaking for Bman, but I'm guessing it has to do with unfair advantages. A lot of places won't allow a person to supervise a spouse or someone they have some kind or relationship with as that can be seen as a conflict of interest. A couple can work for the same company, just not in a position where one has a direct line over the other. Like in this case, other employees for CBS could possibly make a claim that so and so had sex with Letterman and was given a promotion because of that.

I guarantee the same things have gone on within the halls of Verizon. I think the important thing to consider is how far of a reach should a corporation have into the personal lives of employees.

It's not so funny when a comedian turns out to be the kind of person he made fun of. Especially when it's someone you respect and thought you knew. But you never know.

A few years ago, David Letterman was introduced by Bob Costas as the “comedy voice of his generation.” Letterman was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. He was hip and hilarious. He changed television for the better. He was a hero to young comics. His company, Worldwide Pants, produced some of the best sitcoms on TV, including Everybody Loves Raymond.

I once spent a few days behind the scenes of the The Late Show with David Letterman in New York. A few of his staffers were from Houston. I never met a bunch of people more admiring and devoted to their boss.

Letterman was at his best when cooking the latest idiot who fell into hot water. Once he said good night on his show, he was a quiet, private person who, outside of an occasional speeding ticket or wayward joke about Sarah Palin's underage daughter, had little apologizing to do.

He is one of my Top 10 Favorite People.
Surreal, creepy television

Thursday night, Letterman told his audience that he was the victim of a $2 million extortion plot. A man threatened to destroy Letterman's career by revealing that the late-night host had sex with women on his staff. Letterman wasn't apologizing. Just explaining.

Letterman told the audience, while making awkward jokes about the situation, that it was true. He did have sex with at least two women on staff. He called the affairs “terrible things.” The explanation was so uncomfortable and weird, the audience didn't know it if it was a comedy bit or for real.

I heard about the story before Letterman's explanation aired Thursday night, and even I was confused when I heard it. It was surreal, creepy television.

The emperor needs to keep his worldwide pants zipped.

i know the policies are pretty clear where i work and places i have worked in last maybe 20 years regarding consenting people in personal relationships with coworkers. where there are no complaints of discomfort or harrassment, no inference there will be job perks if it continues OR job threats if it end, and keep the professional part professional..its a personal life thing they dont interfere with or address. and they technically have the wording in place for one not being the others boss or have any professional accountability to the other but that one is generally ignored unless there have been reports by one of discomfort or harrassment. hell alot of places would have to reshuffle the staffing every week to accomodate David Letterman Drunken_smilie

and the issue of whether one or both are married isnt in the language because adultery isnt illegal.
