Nomz
What's this meta?

Nom - v. or n. (noms, nomz, nommies) slang for either the conscious or subconscious sound one makes when producing that "MMMM" sound during chewing, or a more pronounced sound "nom nom nom" during or after eating something delicious. Nomz could suggest a special kind of comfort food that also puts one into a sleepy state after consuming. Speculated by some as being Freudian in origin. Also sometimes used in sexual context, especially when referring to the breasts.

as in:
Tommy hungry for his Nom Noms now?
I will nom this!
That stuff is Noms!

Just to be clear, I wasn't using it in sexual context even though the chicken was probably breast meat.

Last night I stopped at Little Ceasars and picked up a couple of the $5 Hot n' Ready pizzas. Not too bad for $5. I had it again this morning for breakfast.

I like their sauce... i'm sure it's some kraft food service straight out of a jar, but it's got a decent flavor. The fact that you can feed four hungry adults for $10 cant be beat sometimes. The one in the hood down here is a bit on the janky side, rarely are they ready, and they are typically always hot because they are making them as fast as they can push them out the door. They need a new manager or something down there.

It was the indian buffet 8.95 it was. However it will be a while before I go there again, it wasn't very good.
My friend doesn't have the luxury of extended lunch hours so we couldn't go to the good place...

Yesterday was our potluck lunch at work -- yum. And last night I met friends for dinner at the Melting Pot (fondue chain).

I shouldn't need to eat through Thursday.

Dinner last night was homemade curried chicken, brown basmati rice and a salad.

Breakfast this morning was fried eggs, avocado, jalapeno havarti cheese, spelt bread and a cuppa the turkish brew.
Made a kinda open faced sandwich.

Lasagna for lunch. Cornish hen, red potato's, carrots, wild rice, and stuffing for dinner. Lasagna for after dinner snack. pig

I also made up a big dish of ziti I'll probably make that for dinner tomorrow. I had to use some stuff I took out of the freezer to defrost. I figured I'd rather throw out leftovers than spoiled uncooked food.

What's your recipe for Cornish hen? I saw them on sale but I've never cooked it, so I might get adventurous and give it a go.

All I did was wash it, dry it inside and out, then stuff it with about 1 c. of stuffing. This fills out the shape of the bird. I added about 1 t. of fresh chopped sage, rosemary and thyme to the stuffing. Rubbed "kickin chicken" spice rub on the outside and sprayed with olive oil. I threw it in a roasting pan, breast down. On one side I put 5-6 whole carrots, and the other side about 7 small red potato's. 1h15m at 350 deg. or until a thermo in the stuffing reads 165 or so, then let it rest about 5-10 min. Chop it in half breast through spine. laid in center of plate. Stuffing, rice, veggies surrounding. It was perfect serving for my daughter and I, but I should have made two because my wife wanted some too - she was working when I made this. I would have made more but this bird was left over from thanksgiving and I had to use it.

I got these hens 2 for $5 at the grocery. If I had to guess they are 1.5 to 2 lb. birds. I guess if half a bird is a serving, that's like $1.25 per person which isn't too bad. We like tearing the meat from the carcass like good omnivorous eaters would do. Laughing

Venison Chili

It's good. Tastes like chili, really.

Super nice gal here at the office brought in a huge crock pot of it. Sure was easy on my lunch budget!
