Looking for ideas...

Post  Shopaholic on Sun Dec 27, 2009 7:44 pm

Going to a family New Year's Eve party and can't decide what to make. They asked me to bring an appetizer/munchie/finger food type food. I don't usually cook this type of stuff, so looking for ideas. No nuts as nut allergic kiddo will be there, but otherwise I'm open to all suggestions! I'm also brining some sort of cookies from me new cookbook, so I need non-dessert ideas.

Haven't done them in awhile but I use to make party weenies... little cocktail wieners with bbq sauce, in a crock pot, low for about 4 hrs...
or any kind of meatballs... also I would have a sauerkraut dish... I am part German and eating kraut on New Year is something that we have always done.

I'd marinate a couple flank steaks and grill them... cut them on a large bias against the grain (so you get a nice wide piece)... put them on some skewers with some dips and what not... it's lean, they don't necessarily need to stay hot etc.
