Baseball Hall of Fame
So tomorrow (Wednesday), the Hall of Fame announces its 2010 Class. Here are the former players hoping to get a call for enshrinement...
Roberto Alomar, Kevin Appier, Harold Baines, Bert Blyleven, Ellis Burks, Andre Dawson, Andres Galarraga, Pat Hentgen, Mike Jackson, Eric Karros, Ray Lankford, Barry Larkin, Edgar Martinez, Don Mattingly, Fred McGriff, Mark McGwire, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Tim Raines, Shane Reynolds, David Segui, Lee Smith, Alan Trammell, Robin Ventura, Todd Zeile.
I think writers get to vote for 10 players. Who would you put in, leaving others to have to buy a ticket if they want to get in?
I would put in Alomar, Larkin, Morris, Dawson, Murphy, Blyleven, Raines, and Smith. Realistically, I think only Alomar and Dawson get in, with Larkin just barely missing (like getting 65% of the vote instead of the required 75%).

Re: Baseball Hall of Fame
So only Andre Dawson gets in. Surprising. Roberto "Remember The" Alomar finished 8 votes shy, and Bert "Be Home" Blyleven misses on his 13th try by a mere 5 votes. Both probably get in next year. I was really disappointed Larkin only got 51% of the vote. I really think some of these writers who vote need to pull their heads outs of their buttisimos!
Re: Baseball Hall of Fame
Congrats to Hawk! I agree with you on the writers who vote. But I was more shocked at some who got any votes at all. David Segui? Pat Hentgen? These guys were decent players but HOF material? No way.Cincy Fan 44 wrote:So only Andre Dawson gets in. Surprising. Roberto "Remember The" Alomar finished 8 votes shy, and Bert "Be Home" Blyleven misses on his 13th try by a mere 5 votes.
