BigTen Expansion
So the rumors are flying today on the BigTen expansion plans. The Big12 has issued a ultimatum need to know your schools plan by June 15th. Looks like Missouri, Nebraska and Texas are possibilities from the Big12. Then there are the eastern schools that always come up like Syracuse, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, even Georgia Tech. Then throw in Independent Notre Dame could be a very powerful conference.
Meanwhile the PacTen is looking to take 6 teams from the Big12. Could definitely be a major shake up college football conferences this year.
Heck if the BigTen is going that far West, lets look at Boise State.

If Notre Dame can be in the Big East (in b-ball) then anything's possible.Scooby01_98 wrote:Heck if the BigTen is going that far West, lets look at Boise State.

Re: BigTen Expansion
Nebraska set to announce tomorrow they will join the bigten. Analysis now predicting the bigten to comprise of 16 teams. I am thinking 2 divisions within the bigten (east and west). Much like the SEC has there conference set up.
Could all this movement mean no more BCS and college football go to a playoff tournament?

Re: BigTen Expansion
I know the Big Ten has actually had 11 schools for awhile now, but I just find it stupid/confusing/idiotic to have a conference named the "Big 10" that has more than, oh, 10 schools in it (or less than that for that matter).

You're right add 9 teams and make it the Big Twenty. Nice round number.

Texas legislature won't let Texas go anywhere without Texas A&M.

Re: BigTen Expansion
I think the Big Ten would benefit greatly from adding Rutgers and Missouri. It would be interesting to see how the conference would divide itself into two separate divisions. There are many traditional rivalries within the Big Ten and it would be nice to keep many of those intact if possible. And I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other about Notre Dame being in the Big Ten. I think the conference would take them and allow them to keep their relationship with NBC. (they would be smart to)
