How we lookin'?

Okay at the risk of eating crow later on, I just gotta say "How 'bout my Redlegs?!?!" 20 games over .500...1st place by 3.5 games over the whiney Cardinals...and winners of their last 8 of 9 games!

Needless to say after 10 years of watching them play meaningless baseball games in the 2nd half of the season, what a treat it's been to watch them now! Hopefully they keep going strong thru the rest of the season and post-season.

Blah blah blah. Okay, I wish you guys luck in the postseason. Did I just say that?

Someone on ESPN radio, I think it was Colin Cowherd, was talking about this last week. He said the Reds have a very good record agianst the bad teams. Their record against the better teams is not very good. I haven't paid too much attention to baseaball this summer but I do wish them luck. Afterall, their not the Yankees.

Yeah, Coward, er I mean Cowherd, called them "Frauds" last week. Maybe, maybe not. But they just did take 2 out of 3 in LA, a place they had been 0-12 the past 4 seasons. Now it's on to SF for 3 games...would love to see them sweep the Giants and shut Colin up...but I don't think that'll happen.

Honestly though, if you want to win your division and make the post-season, shouldn't you beat up on the bad teams? Everyone has to play the "bad" teams. Put it this way, I'd rather make the post-season and see what happens than have to sit thru meaningless August/September Reds baseball games. If you win the World Series, nobody is going to care what your record was against the good teams and the bad teams. All the general sports fan will remember is who won the Series.

7 game lead over the Cardinals now...This is just freakin awesome! Joey Votto is threatening to become the first National League Triple Crown winner in almost 80 years. He's leading in 2 categories (average and RBIs) and is just 3 homers away from leading that category. Joey Votto = MVP!

My gosh I love this team! 8 game lead now over the cardinals! And now with the Cuban Missile, aka Aroldis Chapman, firing 104 mph fastballs coming out of the bullpen, this team is looking really really good. The one thing that concerns me is that when they run into good pitching, they have some difficulties. But I guess that could be said for any team. At any rate, this is a fun ride!

Not yet. We have the Pirates for 3 in Cincy this weekend. Should better win 2 of 3 minimum...and then the D'backs are in town for another 3.

What really concerns me right now is the Reds inability to beat the good teams. Last thing I want to see is the Reds get swept in their first post-season appearance in 15 years.

I'll put a dress on and ride a tricyle in front of Headwaters Park if the Reds blow this lead!!!!

Congrats to the Reds. Just wish it hadn't been at the Astros' expense, but they weren't playing for anything. (a .500 season was lost to them).

Must be nice to play in a weak division. Yeah, a little sour grapes. The real RED sox TEAM had the same record as that other red team when they clinched. Yet the real RED sox TEAM is in 3rd place in there division, looking at the yankees and that Florida team.

I say they need to change it to the NBA style playoff system best team record no matter which division the team is in.

Okay...today is the day I've been waiting 15 excrusiatingly long years for...my Reds are back in the playoffs! Game time is at 5:07pm. I'm pumped! Got a tough first round opponent in the Phillies...should be an interesting series! I say the Reds will win it in 4 games!
