Lets see writes the tax laws. But doesn't remember to claim his rental income on his DR properties.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/The-clock-is-ticking-on-tax-cheat-Charlie-Rangel-8177857-56361837.html

Then the rent controlled apartments in NYC he uses.

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/11/rangel-defends-use-of-rent-stabilized-apartments/

Now he takes a trip and it isn't his fault. I love this quote:

"I don't want to be critical of the committee but common sense dictates that members of Congress should not be held responsible for what could be the wrongdoing or mistakes or errors of staff unless there's reason to believe that member knew or should have known, and there is nothing in the record to indicate the latter," Rangel said at a hastily called evening news conference on Capitol Hill.

Okay Nancy you said the end of the culture of corruption. When is he out of the chairmanship....

See, that is the culture we live in... I understand where you are coming from Cincy, but a crook really knows no party... I dont think any legitimate political body thinks that 'it's ok because he's a democrat.'

Really, was this something that just came about yesterday? From one article: "Democrats are standing behind their chairman..." Maybe your statement might have some merit decades ago, but these clowns nowadays think everybody just fell off the train yesterday.

Please, many on the extreme right want to nominate Newt Gingrich for President.

What does that have to do with the topic? By that comment you must justify his actions as well, just like you probably as well think your babe Nance is the best SOTH ever. Rolling Eyes

Is that all you leftists have to say?

And that would be bad how?!?! Yep he had ethic charges leveled against him 84 of them by the minority whip (think politics were involved). 83 of them were dropped due to no proof. The one he did pay for, was turned over to the IRS (had to do with tax exemption on a college political course). The IRS agreed it should have been tax exempt. Sounds like he was exonerated of all the charges.

Gingrich worked with Clinton, getting welfare reform, balanced budgets (creating those surplus), this was when R's were actually fiscally conservative in the 90's.

Meanwhile Rangel has done what?

Ethics committee has busted him. Charged with 11 out of 13 counts of corruption. Wonder if Obama will say he acted "STUPIDLY". Can they throw him in jail (mainly for tax fraud). Or does the IRS now have to take him to court. He needs to GO!!!!

That's a joke. Newt would be a hell of a lot better than the current occupant.

Well they could expel him from the house. Do I see it happening; no. Now the IRS charge him with tax fraud for not counting 600K in income. Or maybe the Post Office can charge him under false billing (using his official letter head to solicit funds). That might get him a few years.

Hey they got Al Capone on tax fraud, lets go after Rangel.

Shocking... whats a little thing like ethics... a small matter really. I'm sorry, wont happen again. I did notice that they waited until after the election to move anywhere.
