Joe Biden is a heartbeat away from the presidency?
Just odd that I keep hearing that about Sarah Palin... but not one seems to be saying it about Biden.

can't say I've heard that one.. but I'd argue Biden is a nutjob's bullet away from the presidency, which to me, is a more viable threat between the two.

I don't think it goes the same order for democrats; they skip to Speaker of the House which is why Nancy is encouraging unity. She's a sly one.

You missed the point ... Pez is saying you don't hear this about Biden because he is totally respected and acknowledged to be ready to assume the Presidency should something happen to Obama. Palin is not.

or maybe we think its redundant considering on two separate occasions we've told Senator Biden thanks but no thanks.

If that is your take for not asking ... a preference but obviously he is qualified for the position or the republicans would be questioning his credentials too.

Re: Has anyone said
That wasn't my take on it at all. I thought he was saying the democratic party was using the term like it was a bad thing, even though it's stating the obvious, which is of course she could become president. That's basically the job of the VP.Bman wrote:cardinal5150 wrote:can't say I've heard that one.. but I'd argue Biden is a nutjob's bullet away from the presidency, which to me, is a more viable threat between the two.

HUH? I have just worked an 11 hour day and Mark that makes no sense to me ... I will re-read later tonight. Seriously, maybe it is me but I don't get what you are saying there. I think the democratic party is saying it is a bad thing for Palin to be a heart beat away because she is not qualified in our opinion. You are not hearing that about Biden because he is QUALIFIED by even the republican party's belief. Granted the republicans are questioning Obama if he is qualified but no one has challenged Biden.

Re: Has anyone said
Just saying, no sh*t that she would only be a heartbeat away from the presidency. The Republican party is well aware that she will be running the country if something happens to McCain. So obviously, it's just a slam saying she is not qualified for the presidency. If you want to think that, that's fine, but just know that a lot of voters think the same of Obama, except he is much closer than a heartbeat away from president.

Re: Has anyone said
And the whole heartbeat away gimmick worked so well in 1988 against Bush/Quayle...

The Quayle pick just continued to get worse for the republicans though and benefited the Democrats. Quayle gave us Bill Clinton in 1992 since Bush Sr. would not dump Dannyboy. I don't want to wait 4 years to dump Palin/McCain.

More of a chance of VP becoming Pres. with the Dem. ticket. America is not ready for a black & white, muslin President. If he gets in it will not last long. Sadly to say. I am not for this or wish this to happen, just reality.
