Will Media Report Obama's Mocking of McCain's Disability?

I certainly don't expect the media to cover the Obama campaign's lack of decency in their last campaign ad video pointing out John McCain's inability to send emails. There are only two explanations to their insensitivity. Either they are mocking John McCain, or they lack in their own abilities on the internet. Either way, it should be a major embarrassment for the Obama folks. Of course, the media will pretend to be ignorant of it all.
Susan Duclos writes:
Much has been discussed about John McCain not being able to use a computer and in an ad from the Barack Obama campaign (shown above) it says, “Can’t send an email,” referencing McCain. An article in Boston.com from 2000, shows McCain cannot type on a keyboard.
It took a blogger from The Corner less than a day to find an article in Boston.com that references John McCain injuries from Vietnam, showing he cannot tie his shoes, comb his hair properly or “typing on a keyboard,” stating it was because of his severe war injuries, which limit his ability to do certain things with his hands.
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
One has to wonder if anyone at the Obama campaign knows how to use a search engine.
This new ad is part of the aggressive campaigning the Obama officials say they will be rolling out and as ABC’s Political Punch points out, this is the thrid or fourth time Barack Obama will be “taking the gloves off,” to fight it out.
David Plouffe, who is Obama’s campaign manager, says they are heading into the final stretch and continues on to say, “We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain’s attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people. We will not allow John McCain and his band of Karl Rove disciples to make this big election about small things.”
If mocking John McCain’s disabilities that he obtained during his captivity in war, is how they plan to fight the big issues, then Obama’s campaign has more problems than just sagging poll numbers.
Perhaps some lesson on how to use a Google search engine should be in order for the Obama campaign members responsible for creating these latest types of ads.
Ed Morrissey adds some good commentary:
Making fun of a war hero’s severe injuries — smooth move, Team O. Talk about computer illiteracy! Doesn’t anyone on the Obama campaign know what they’re doing? Didn’t it ever occur to them that a man who can’t raise his arms above his head might have a physical barrier to using a computer?
If this is what happens when they takes the gloves off, maybe they should just keep them on in the future.
Can we expect the media to rpot on this? I don't think so!

So he can't make progress on learning how to use the net without sending e-mail? My guess is he's learning how to use a mouse to navigate, or something to that effect, or simply being informed on what he can find on the net.
If this is really an ad by BO's camp (I'm not denying it is, Jugo is pretty good at not posting BS) I could easily see this firing up the die hard right wingers who might have been debating supporting McCain for whatever reason.
It's one thing for a politician to attack another... once you start to attack what has become a national icon of how strong our soldiers are in McCain I think you're barking up the wrong tree. If they go forward with this ad heavily I think it'll be one of the steps that leads to BO losing in November.

I've seen the ad, and it was pretty stupid. Saw it on local television. I hope they dump it quick. The ad showing how McCains top advisers are all lobbyists is much more effective.

I heard that one.. and would agree if Biden's son wasn't a Lobbyist. It's kinda hard to bash one guy for having people talk to him that are lobbyists when your own family members are as well. But apparently the BO/Biden camp so far won't admit that son exists.

Google it Card ... Hunter Biden resigned as a Federal Lobbyist the day ... the day his father was asked to be put on the ticket.

Well there you go.
Of course, I don't see people like Malkin posting pictures found on the web that show McCain using his Palm Treo, talking on the cell etc, all using similar arm movements to those required for computer usage. Basically proving their attack moot.

Hey, campaign advisers and cabinet members you pick, family you get stuck with.
But seriously, what, there's no disabled access software/hardware in existence that can help out McCain on the physical part? Really? I mean it's been free on Mac since System 6 or maybe even sooner I think. With his resources and people around him I think he could use a computer if he really wanted to.
Criminy, I'm typing this on a keyboard connected to my Vista laptop hooked over to a Mac G3 actually surfing the forum... Synergy2 was free and took like 10 minutes to hook up and figure out. If he really can't get to use the net for physical reason... I feel sorry for the guy, really.

Hey Pez
What do you think? Can McCain tie his shoes with two fingers?
Maybe he's more the speech to text type of guy?
Take me to the internets...

Not to get picky (but I will since you mentioned the day twice)...old Hunter resigned on August 25th. Biden was announced as Obama's running mate on the 23rd (at 3am via text).Bman wrote:Google it Card ... And I would assume that Biden was asked before that text, so your point that Hunter resigned the day his dear old dad was asked is inaccurate, or at the very least misleading.

It's okay Bman...it's not the end of the world if you're wrong every once in a great while.

Not to get picky Cincy but go google the day he notified the company he was lobbying on behalf of, Aug. 25th. was the date of the letter to Congress, not the day he ceased being a lobbyist.

Re: Will Media Report Obama's Mocking of McCain's Disability?
Hunter's OFFICIAL resignation day was August 25th. Nothing is official until his signature was on that piece of paper, IMHO. Po-tay-to. Po-tah-to. Cin-cin-nati. Cin-cin-natuh.

Indeed.. you can't pick family.. however.. if your SON decides to go into a career that now you are suddenly against I just find that interesting.... Dad potentially has a new job so son has to change his life.
