AIG executives wined and dined...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Days after it got a federal bailout, American International Group Inc. spent $440,000 on a posh California retreat for its executives, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings, according to lawmakers investigating the company's meltdown.
AIG sent its executives to the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles, California, even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy.
The resort tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees, according to invoices the resort turned over to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

If there is any humor to be found in this whole mess, it's that those AIG commercials in which the kids were supposed financial wizards and nervous about their parents' investments until the kid found that they were with AIG. Well, just goes to show you THEY'RE KIDS AND DON'T KNOW CRAP ABOUT FINANCES! punk kids...
Yeah, everyone will find this random, but I think it's hilarious. It might be the intense amounts of rubber cement someone has been using around here this morning.

I'm just staggered by the amount of money being flung around... this is really the knife edge here...
Consider that the 440,000 is probabaly more money than any of us will make in 6-7 years, but it's on 0.0005% (one ten thousandth of one percent) of the 85 billlion dollar loan AIG rec'd. Having some level of experieince with this high level of executive, they simply wont work without thse kinds of perks. This is the opposite end of the liberal "culture of entitlement"...
