Ok, so we usually go someplace nice for New Year's eve, we've never been to Catablu. Just one of those things ya know, well what's the verdict? Good, bad, ok...thoughts appreciated, no gratuity required. Smile

I've eaten there once with my wife. Had to be at least 7-8 years ago or so. I remember only the mashed potato's and being able to see the kitchen from the dining floor which was kinda neat. I remember also, not being that impressed. My fading memory would give it two stars out of five.

I've never been... my wife liked it... I'm glad it's on the south side, and it appears to be commercially viable...

If you've ever been to Blu Tomato you'll see a few similarities at Catablu. The salad dressings are the same, the flatbread they serve is actually all made over at the tomato. Probably some similar/identical desserts as well. Catablu's food is just much more upscale & different. It's not a place to go to every day, but I'd say it's worth a trip just to say you have.

I do believe the decision will be to continue to not have visited this place, thanks for the warning everyone.

Great response. I think this statement represents the kind of consumer you are. Judging from some of the other responses, Catablu will probably need more advertising, and/or a menu makeover with a dash of cuisine specialization by mid-year 2009.
