MLB season begins...in Japan!

So the Red Sox and the A's are opening up the baseball season in Japan today. Anybody catch the first pitch at 6am? Not me. I'm not a big fan of baseball doing traveling halfway around the world to open the season (nor do I like World Series games starting at 8:30pm, but that's another topic). And they're only playing a 2 game series. I was surprised in looking at the Red Sox schedule that they come back from this trip, and already play an interleague series against the Dodgers, with one of the games being at the Coliseum. Just weird in my book.

Hopefully their plane will crash into the Island on Lost and they won't be found......

Another season for the Cubs to enter with hope and end with frustration. nah, I hope the Cubbies win ... just for Harry Carey's sake, God rest his soul.

Dear MLB:

Remember when opening day was a big deal? Yeah, neither do we. Congrats on the downward spiral Selig, you douche.

I hope your talking about the "A's" plane and not the mighty BoSox plane The team continues to win my approval for sticking up for their coaches and manager to get them paid for this trip. Along with the organization contributing to the salaries to make up the difference. Did the A's do that never really heard?

I'm not crazy about having teams travel like that either. As much as I get tired of the Red Sox, it's quite a disadvantage to have your schedule thrown off and then come back to play someone else. We already have Japanese players here and American players there, so I don't know what MLB is trying to promote here. The other odd thing about this season is starting on March 25th. I always remembered it starting in April. Could we have more snowouts like last year?

As soon as Americans start caring about Japanese baseball. So basically, never.

No.. I'm hoping for the BoSox plane to crash.. the only thing from Boston I've found that I like is Sam Adam's beer. And as much as I love it (always have it in the fridge) I'd gladly give it up if it meant the entire city of Boston disappeared.

I'll second that. I think Godsmack is from Boston, and they are ok sometimes.

"Truly Addicted" doesn't even begin to describe my love affair for the Redleggers...I'm convinced that I bleed 'Cincinnatuh Red". Also, if my wife and I could have agreed on a name that begins with the letter "D" for the one girl, we would have only been an "S" away from having the first initials of our kids spell out REDS. At any rate, that daughter's initials still spell out MVP. Perhaps on the next kid we can do something about that. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, mind you. I'd get into more details, but I don't want to bore you.

Cincy, if you were attempting to spell out REDS with your kids' initials, all I can say is I bet your wife is glad you're not a fan of the DIAMONDBACKS.

But our tax deductions would be un-freakin-real!!! Of course, that would probably just mildly offset what we would shell out for diapers. A friend once told never to try to add up how much you spend on diapers, it'll drive you insane!

Ditto. Grilling + Beer + Cubs -vs- Brewers = Happy Me.

I'll be super pissed if the weather doesn't hold up.

There's something really awesome about listening to a regular season baseball game at 8:00am on a Tuesday morning. It's a shame there aren't morning games...just for my pleasure.
