Shrine Circus
Anybody go to it this year? We took the 3 oldest ones over the weekend and had a good time. The show was different than it was the past couple of years, but I guess they need to do that so that it doesn't get stale.
The final act was a human cannonball, which was by far the best part for our son. I don't think I've ever seen anybody shot out of a cannon in person before. Hats off to the people that want to do that for a living!

LOL, just plain evil.
I remember taking my cousin when he was about 6 years old to see the Barnum and Bailey Circus, (I think that was the name.)
It was such a long evening, the kid fell asleep, I picked him up and took him home.

My Son liked it though. I didn't like the hawkers cheap stuff for lots of mula.

Re: Shrine Circus
Same here. That irked me when they would actually stop the show to point out the crap they were selling and announce it to the crowd. They might just as well have been saying "Hey kids. If your parents don't buy this for you, they don't love you and don't want you to have cool things.".Mort wrote:Its good for little ones but I always hated going it was so boring .

Agreed. They were selling their "light-up" toys for $10 apiece. Luckily our kids didn't ask for them as they are at the stage where if one has one, all of them have to have one. That would have amounted to a $30 bill right there. No thanks!Markwes wrote:Same here. Re: Shrine Circus
Do they still have the lions doing "tricks"? I know that's part of a traditional circus, but just about everyone I ever talked to who took their kids there said that was the least favorite for the kids. I guess there is just something about seeing animals performing against their will and facing the whip (even if it's just a noise) if they don't do it right that just doesn't appeal to kids these days and make them marvel at the trainer's bravery.

Yep. That was the 1st act of the 2nd half. They had a lion in a cage with 11 bengal tigers. Oddly enough, the bengals just laid down in front of the lion...hahahaha.Markwes wrote:Do they still have the lions doing "tricks"? My kids actually liked that part a lot. I don't think they're old enough yet to realize they're 'performing' against their wills. I know some are against it these animals being in captivity, but who's to say they wouldn't have just gotten eaten as cubs by an unknown predator? At least they have somewhat of a productive life...
Re: Shrine Circus
not only are the junk they sell exspensive but they end up wearing out or breaking the same day you buy them
