This must've been the "change we can believe in"
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Economy/story?id=7166810&page=1
President Obama's budget chief hinted Wednesday that the president's signature campaign issue -- a middle-class tax cut -- will not likely survive a budget battle with Democrats on Capitol Hill.
Aw shucks.......

Shoving a lot of stuff to the side, anyone who thinks we can pay for two wars, fix the banking mess and fix detroits decades of screups without raiseing taxes is naive.
Conservatives seemed to be of the notion that sacrificing our rights was the patriotic thing to do (wiretaps, torture etc), but when it comes to opening our wallets, well, that's just socialist...

please tell me what rights Americans have lost the last ten years? Tell me of an American tortured in this country? Now lets look at what Obama admin is or has already tried.
Giethner (your favorite treasury sec) and his global currency gaf....

Then there is all the budget deficits that will basically bankrupt our country. Amazing how GWB deficits would do this for the past 8 years, but the projected doubling of the deficit in the next 10 years won't.

So who is it again trying to do more harm to the U.S.?????

why does it only count if its an american who was tortured in america? how about all the torture americans DID in gitmo and abu ghrab and the prison ships and the secret black sites that have been publicised and bush admin eventually admitted to? why do you find it to be noble to be the torturer..long as it happens in another ountry by our folks of course. i happen to think we need to keep our own house clean on human rights. because its the right thing, but also because we are so critical of other countries and demand they adhere to basic human rights.

The Associated Press provided the following list of some of the fundamental liberties that have been lost under Bush:
*FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigations.
*FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once- public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records questions.
*FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.
*RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may monitor federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients, and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.
*FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation.
*RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.
*RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them.

If you happen to smoke, that $13 tax cut will be more than negated by the increase in tobacco tax.

with $13.00 i can buy a small loaf of bread, a bundle each of carrots and raddishes, a bag of mixed lettuce and greens, a couple tomatoes, a half dozen eggs, a few sweet potatoes..that would last me a few days. if you would give me your $13.00 i could eat for a week

Re: No Middle Class Tax Cut
Most air compressors at gas stations cost $0.75... just so you know that you have to drive a few miles to offset that cost as well.

Millions of couples, retirees may have to repay some of Obama tax credit
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/INSIDE-WASHINGTON-Rude-apf-15091434.html?.v=1
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Millions of Americans enjoying their small windfall from President Barack Obama's "Making Work Pay" tax credit are in for an unpleasant surprise next spring.
The government is going to want some of that money back.
The tax credit is supposed to provide up to $400 to individuals and $800 to married couples as part of the massive economic recovery package enacted in February. Most workers started receiving the credit through small increases in their paychecks in the past month.
and everyone thought this was a good thing...
oops

Well your man Obama said he wanted to "spread the wealth". That means he'll raise taxes and redistribute it to other people. Sounds socialist to me. But anyways to rebut your "opening our wallets" comment, I'd be willing to wager that my charitable donations I've reported as itemized deductions exceeds yours. Not that I like to boast because I don't but I like for liberals to put their money where there mouth is.
Sorry for the length of duration in responding. I don't visit boards much anymore; they tend to go stale with the same liberal dribble....

The very existence of taxes is, as you say, the collection of money from one group of people for redistribution to another. You cant say that Raising taxes on the rich is socialist without saying all taxes are socialist. If you feel that raising taxes is socialism, you dont know what socialism is.
I'll go:
I give $100 a year to a local public radio station, I give $600 a year to United way, about $75 a year to my daughter's faith-based day care ministry. Thats it...
Technically, I also give $100 a year to my neighborhood association and give them about 4 hours a week (average)... were not a 503c so that would not appear as an itemized deduction... I also coordinate 2 tire days, a cleanup day and two dumpster days... If you want to count that, my billable rate is about $100 at work...
If you give more than that, fine... you can still kiss my liberal ass :-)

I am just glad that we are going to TAKE more from you and give the struggling welfare mother over off of Wayne Trace ... you like liberals to put their money where there mouth is we just prefer assholes to shut theirs. I say EXCLUDE contributions to churches and lets see how everyone does ... funding a mega churches pastor salary should not count as charitable contribution. I will also hazard a freaking guess that Kroman is much like Joe the Plumber or what ever he is now ... your FEDERAL income tax will NOT go up any ... so STFU ... Obama kept his word to you thus far.

While I may have posted the original post, your comment leaves me laughing. Uh, you want to take a poll of this board concerning libs vs conserv. We from the right would even register on it, oh I see it's the same as before your said retirement. All libs and those from the right better shut-up and listen. If this is what you have to contribute, then I vote you go back in retirement. You would've thought that your little vacation would've 'toned' you down, but it's obvious that it hasn't. With all your free time in reading our posts, make sure you call out everyone and not just those who you aim to incite.

Oh ... I should tone down but your AWB-like comments are cool. Sorry ... I just want to incite those that really have NO clue. Being conservative is one thing taking beyond that is just WRONG, not right ... wing.
