John Madden Retires
Wow this is kind of out of left field. I used to enjoy him in the booth but he has gone down hill the last couple of years.

Wonder if that means no Madden in 10 video game this year?

I enjoyed Madden. He was kind of goofy sometimes, and he loved his on screen pen, but he knows his stuff. I just hope Colinsworth doesn't take over. Sometimes I wish that guy would get hit by a truck.

Great find Mark!
I think Madden is one of Frank's better impressions.

Twenty years after leaving the Bengals, Cris Collinsworth reached football’s TV pinnacle Thursday.
NBC announced that the Fort Thomas resident would succeed legendary John Madden on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
“John’s successor will be Cris Collinsworth. He will step into the role with Al (Michaels) immediately,” said NBC Sports publicist Michael McCarley during a noon NBC teleconference.
Dick Ebersol, NBC Sports chairman, said Madden recommended Collinsworth for the prime-time football games Wednesday, when he met Ebersol and his agent for 11 hours in California.
I'm obviously biased, but I like Collinsworth...glad that he'll be doing this.

Being a talking head, you have to have a little bit of self-gloat. But this guy takes the cake. He knows his stuff, I just wish he would present it in a different manner sometimes.
...ok, I'm biased too. He's a certified Colt hater. I think that stems from his miserable years playing with the Bungals.

Not so fast...the Bengals were actually pretty good in Collinsworth's days back in the 80s...even went to a couple of Super Bowls. Then the curse of Bo Jackson happened...IrishGuy wrote:Cincy Fan 44 wrote:
