Aggie, I HATE the 'Stros!

Reds lost again to the Houston Astros last night. The Reds ballpark should be probably be renamed "Great American Astros Park" since they haven't lost there since Sept. 07!!!! Unfrickinbelievable...

Now, see, I was patient, biding my time after you gave me such a hard time about the 'stros losing to the Reds last week, because I knew the worm would turn....

you were more of a wuss than I expected. I was all ready to provide some serious taunting and trash talk, and the 'stros let me down. So, no, I'm not asking for a whupping; the Astros did that for me. I'm just sayin', you would not have heard the end of it had the scores been reversed.

Seems like that's the story of every Astros fan life...sure the Reds can beat the Astros when the games mean absolutely nothing...but the story of this Reds fan life is they can't win anymore when it seems to matter.

One thing I will say, the other night the Reds honored Dayton Daily News Reds beat writer Hal McCoy for his 37 years of covering Reds baseball. Hal is 'retiring' at the end of the season (i.e....the paper is eliminating his job due to the economy). Any way, he threw out the first pitch to an Astros player. Guess who it was? Former Red Aaron Boone. Nutshell version of why...McCoy had a stroke in both his eyes before the '03 season and when he reported to Spring Training, he could barely see and was going to quit. Boone talked him out of it and McCoy has always thanked him.

I think the Pirates have won that division. Last I looked they were 11 1/2 games up on the field.

10-4 Reds in the bottom of the 8th...Reds winning. Will the disastros win any games from the Reds this weekend Aggie????

BTW Aggie...why on earth did the Astros fire their manager with only 13 games left? That's cold.

The season's over for the 'Stros. And I do not have an inkling why they fired their manager when they did -- I've never thought much of McLane as an owner, though.

Yes, I was wondering if you'd comment on the pathetic-ness (yes, not a word, but it fits here perfectly) of the Astros in their last home stand. With Roy out for the remainder of the year, they seem to have just given up.

Now, on to the Texans and Aggies for my sports hopes!
