Anyone else think the current drama around the show is a ploy to get people to tune in? You know what they say..."there's no such thing as bad press, just spell my name right."

I've seen this show exactly once and it seemed lame. I could care less about what happens to the show but primarily for the sake of the sanctity of the vow of marriage, and the children. I think they should stay together and not let the media laser beam cut them apart while millions watch.

Enough with these fickle adolescent expressions of identity fade. I say that even if there has been a tryst by one or the other or both. Argue, apologize, STFU and have makeup sex and get over it.

J&K+8 finished #1 against ALL competition Monday night...nothing like a little controversy to shoot the ratings up!

The heavily promoted fifth-season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 posted record ratings for TLC on Memorial Day. The hour-long episode -- in which tabloid cover queen Kate Gosselin admitted, "I have a lot of anger...this is not what I envisioned for us" -- attracted a whopping 9.8 million viewers, which more than doubled the audience that tuned into the show's season 4 finale in March (4.6 million). Early estimates also reveal that the premiere, which lured unprecedented numbers of women aged 18-34 and women 18-49, was TLC's (and Jon & Kate's) most-watched episode ever. It also trounced the broadcast networks, which aired mostly repeats because of the holiday (an original episode of The Bachelorette on ABC drew 6 million). Final ratings are due Wednesday.

My niece watches that show, and I just don't get the attraction. Admittedly, I've never watched it, but then, I don't watch any reality shows (other than the singing on American Idol.) The stress of putting one's personal life on display would break up anyone's marriage. Plus, why would anyone want to? Money, I guess, in this case - helped to pay for the eight kids.

I feel for those beautiful children.
They are divorcing.
They are not going to make the show til Aug. (I have a feeling that we will not see anymore ever, IMO)
They should have quit doing the show when those kids were about 3yo and once Jon asked her (in front of the world)
to "pull the stick out"!!!!! LMAO b/c it has all been downhill after that.
I feel for both Jon and Kate but agree that Kate can be a NAGGING HAG!!!!
I would have bitch slapped her yrs ago, Jon must be made of steel.

I wonder sometimes how much of the 'nagging' that we see is edited that way to make her appear more naggy than usual? Just wondering. I do know that with that many kids all at about the same age (okay, 6 are the same age and the other 2 are the same age), you have to be somewhat anal-retentative when it comes to organizing the kids' day. Is anal-retentativeness the same as nagging? I don't know.

This development comes on the heels of Jon suspending all filming of their TV show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" last week after TLC announced that it would rename it "Kate Plus Eight." While her lawyers move to get Jon to return the money, she is left without a way to feed her children or pay her bills, she said.

She has no way of feeding her children. Oh no! At least she still has money for lawyers.

I bet this tactic is far more common than we suspect. A homemaker wife who is essentially unemployed but has 3 kids decides to leave the marriage and goes to a Divorce lawyer. I'm betting chances are that she will hear the same tactic presented in a way that these are joint funds, and she has no source of income... she will probably be advised to take that opportunity.

So anybody watch their FINAL show? I suffered thru it with the wife, 45 minutes of poor me and blaming Jon from Kate. I'm sure TLC is searching for the next family to exploit.
