States with Highest Tax Burden

A lot of states in the NE. Indiana is just a smidge below the national average. Was surprised to see Iowa in the top 10, with Minnesota up there also.

NE has a lot of services that we wouldnt even dream of... their schools are awesome.

What makes them 'awesome'??? Just wondering...

A couple of things to consider. Northern states have to deal with the freeze/thaw cycle that many southern states nvery selcomly experience. This causes roadways and sidewalks to deteriorate. Also, northern states have heavy costs in snow removal and salting/sanding roadways.
