Yeah, Sliptap. You need to be more like Bman where you're set in in your ways and won't listen to opposing views anymore. Come on, recent high school graduates aren't supposed to think and have real opinions!Bman wrote:sliptap wrote:Bman wrote:Dude .... be more concise .... shit save your bullshit for an interview and then blow all this smoke up someone ass that might care.

Back under the bridge, troll.
Don't tell me you are done with me ... tell me it ain't so. Tell me the recent HS graduate is not going convince me Rush and Beck know what they are talking about. Get some real life experience under you belt, live a little and then form an opinion. Deal bucko? Until then you are just being an internet troll.

shouldnt surprise me considering that your repub and all..i just never saw you respond this way to folks who disagree or poke at you.
Maybe he should be more tactful and call bman a teabagger instead. Or would that offend you too?

He can think until he goes to college and gets a professor like Ward Churchill or Bill Ayers who are more than eager to teach him how to think. Then he can graduate and sit in Reverand Wright's pew for 20 years next to bman and spew hatred to everyone who doesn't agree with their views.

Haha and I have PLENTY of respect for you FF. Because you are respectful to me and my beliefs.
But why should I give Bman any respect when he tells me to take my beliefs and fuck off? If he wants to argue while trying to belittle my beliefs...fine. If that means I'm over-reacting in your book...cool. He's an asshole in my books and I have no remorse for standing up for what I believe in.
As for Meta...I was making an ironic point. He basically told me (in another post) that I only like to troll for arguments on this forum. It appears I caught him with his hypocritical pants down, pissing into the wind...

NEW YORK (AP) - Hundreds of auto dealers in the New York area have withdrawn from the government's Cash for Clunkers program, citing delays in getting reimbursed by the government, a dealership group said Wednesday.
"But it's in the hands of this enormous bureaucracy and regulatory agency," he added. "If they don't get out of their own way, this program is going to be a huge failure."

It goes on to mention that only 225 persons are handling the claims (over 330,000 claims since the news report). Geeze, this seems like the worst place for the government to try and save money
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/16/auto-dealers-paid-just-percent-clunkers-claims-congressman-says/?test=latestnews
The federal government has only reimbursed auto dealers for 2 percent of the claims they've submitted through the popular "cash for clunkers" program, a Pennsylvania congressman said, calling on the Obama administration to help speed up the process.
Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., called for "immediate action" to address the problem in a statement Sunday, after writing a letter to President Obama Saturday expressing his concerns.
In the letter, Sestak said only 2 percent of claims have been paid and that four of every five applications have been "rejected for minor oversight."

As a side effect I heard the local GM plant is scheduling OT to keep up with the demand for new car sales.

This is a sham article. I reread it and discussed it with another manager (former car sales manager for O'Daniels) here at work and he said it's not uncommon for dealers to wait 2 months for vehicle financing... sometimes upwards of $40K per vehicle. This $4,500 is a drop in the bucket. Think about it.

A transposed number in a VIN number is not a minor oversight. Who are these hillbilly car salesmen that are submitting paper claims and expecting overnight service? It's frickin' 2009 for cryingoutloud. Learn to type information accurately into a computer!
editadd----
and 330,000 claims at $4500 is roughly $1,485,000,000 - almost half the money the program has to disburse I think 670,000 would be the theoretical max, so they have to verify and cut at least 330,000 checks in less than a month with 225 people... do the math! It's a flood of requests!

Which is a subeffect that the GOV is now running GM and this will have a positive effect on their emergence from bankruptcy and HOPEful return to fiscal fortitude.

Waaaaiiiiiitttt a minute.
80% of the claims have been denied because of "minor oversight" and only 2% of the submitted forms have actually even been paid out. Doesn't exactly sound like a problem of "hillybilly salesmen"
So, four out of five claims are being denied...2% payout at this point. Successful isn't the first thing coming to my mind, either, lol.

The fear over the clunker cars thing is just like the fear over where Obama was born ... it's bull shit. The govt has $3B allocated and the Sec. of Transportation has said all claims will be paid.
YAWN ... I wish the right wing would give up fear!

Re: Cash for Clunkers
While I think the Cash For Clunkers program is the best stimulus Obamaco has done so far, I can't help but wonder how many repos there are going to be in the next year or so from people who bought new cars and then couldn't afford the payments? Anyone want to bet me a baloney sammich the number approaches 18%?

The last time I looked up FAILURE in the dictionary it did not say it was synonymous to fear.

Dealers want end to Cash for Clunkers

The govt needs to come out and say that all says made by such and such date will be paid the $4500 if the vehicle qualifies, if I was a dealer I would be worried that I might offer someone the rebate and then be told it is all gone. Congress and the Senate should have put a date not a dollar figure on the program.
This program has been WILDLY successful contrary to what LTRT tries to spin.
