Baseball All-Star Game
The Baseball All-Star Game is tonight...anyone else going to watch it? I think baseball really needs to do away with this silly notion that whichever league wins this EXHIBITION game gets home-field advantage in the World Series.
I can understand they want to avoid the embarrassment of several years ago when it ended in a tie...but I think they can come up with a better solution to any All Star game that goes into extra innings. My solution? Homerun hitting contest. I'm not a chick but I dig the long ball. Hockey actually does excessive overtimes right with a shootout. Why not baseball?
Either that or a 'grab your crotch and spit for distance' contest...Roseanne might come out of retirement then!

Not a big fan of baseball especially on TV. I personally like the all star game as the deciding factor for home field makes the game more worthwhile when something is at stake.
Re: Baseball All-Star Game
Wouldn't it be great if right after he gets to the FOX broadcast booth, Joe Buck says, "Excuse me Mr. President, but Sean Hannity will now be pinch-hitting for Tim McCarver. Sean, your first question..."LTRT wrote:Obama to join Fox broadcast booth for All-Star Game

Come on, guys, this is a baseball discussion, not politics. Can we not drag Obama/Rush/Hannity/radio-talk-show-host-of-your-choice into every frickin' discussion?

How exciting. The American League won again.
And just for you Aggie. What kind of pansy-ass throw was Obama's first pitch? Did the jumbo-tron say "Throw pitch that barely makes it to the catcher."? When Bush threw the first pitch in the World Series, it was a clear strike.

Bush has the moves... if it werent for his ninja like reflexes he would have caught the shoe right in the coked up, sweaty upper lip face...

Haha, I am glad I didn't throw that first pitch when I had the chance to. Not at the all stars game, but at a regular Toronto game a few weeks ago.
That would've been me being the worst pitch ever.

I forgot about that. I'm surprised no MLB team signed that shoe-thrower. He had quite a good fastball, and accurate.Pez wrote:Markwes wrote:How exciting. The American League won again.

Does anyone know what kind of pitch Obama was trying to throw. I'm guessing a "change" up.
