Alternative missile defense system
So what's everybody think about the adjustment of the missile defense plans?

My first thought is the same that I always have - current missile defense systems have been shown to be pretty weak, but that's probably just the nature of the game. It's one thing to design a missile that has to hit a relatively stationary and relatively large target area (like, say, land), but quite another to hit a small, nimble target. Anyway, the problem is that I think missiles on the offensive will generally always have the upper hand, regardless of advances in defensive missiles.
More direct to the actual adjustment - I'm leaning towards this being a good thing. On one hand, a calmer Russia is probably better for everyone. It would be a LOT better if they'd quit their slide into their old Soviet ways, but it's better than furthering a joint slide into old Cold War days. Still, as mentioned in the article, it sounds like the Czech Republic and Poland were banking a lot of their security on the US going through with it - sucks to be balked on like that.

I chuckle when I think about Reagan's "Star Wars". The idea that we can shoot missles out of the sky with frickin' laser beams is as believable as sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads.
Poor poor Poland... guess they better put their game faces on

Propaganda for the Russians is what I initially thought. Not sure if I still feel the same, but I'm still leaning that way.

I hope nothing in the future makes me regret saying this but....HAHAHAHAHA!!

Yeah, I don't think they've done such a good job with that game face at this point.
