Well here is my take. He needs to go on Fox to get his message and views out to the conservative and moderate leaning viewers that watch Fox. He already has the liberal viewers of MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS and most of the CNN (CNN is starting to actually ask questions again). Who for the most part are all in lockstep with this administration. So if the administration is happy with not having to explain their policies to people that doubt the administration views, then he should stay where he is comfortable and not really have to answer questions.

I listen to both, NPR daily, BBC nearly so... I have no control over the rest of America :-)
True but another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.

IMO, Fox News has done their best to whip up opposition against Obama and his administration, at this point it'd be foolish for him to appear on Fox News.

I dunno... that seems a little thin. He obviously cant count on Fox to present his views objectively, he does just as well reaching that crowd through the State of the Union or other public speeches that Fox chooses to televise... if you want to look like a steak, jumping into a meat grinder isn't a way to do it. Lipstick Lou Dobbs challenged Obama's citizenship, lending credence to the otherwise radical "birthers"... I cant say I blame him when he doesnt trust Fox...

Re: White House at War w/ FOX News
This is a joke. Obama can't go on Foxnews because Foxnews can't be objective. Boo hoo hoo. The administration is acting like a bunch of spoiled babies.
Let's see. The Press Secretary narrowed it down that the problems with Fox are in the 5:00 and 9:00 time slot. Beck and Hannity. These are opinion shows so what do you expect when the opinion from these individuals are conservative? So he'll go on Olbermann, Matthews, Madal (whoever the liberal gal on MSNBC is) and other liberal opinion shows.
Freaking joke and a bunch of cry babies.

So he can't handle tough questions is all I am getting from his whining about Fox.

I envision if he went on Fox (faux), it'd turn out to be a scary mix between a State of the Union address, and a Birthers rally or Town Hall shoutin' match. Nobody is wining about anything, both sides have legitimate gripes about one anothers style, the barrier is that Exec's at Fox News have decided to go a direction towards opinion news and away from objective journalism, injecting their viewer bias' into their otherwise objective reports (sarcasm) before delivery. This is the formula they've freely chosen to use and they're getting what they paid for. I think they need to swing the pendulum back toward pragmatic, thoughtful reporting and quit trying to make money by provoking fear and emotional response from their viewer base.

No, it's weak to focus on the one conservative leaning network and ignore the multiple left leaning ones that play by the same rules.meta4 wrote:Pez wrote:LTRT wrote:Well that pretty much sums up the whole topic!

You need to add MSNBC in that opinion based news list. Chris Matthews show should be renamed Softball. Ed Schultz is the Rush Limbaugh of the left (he is the #1 liberal talk show host on radio). Keith Olbermann, Rachael Maddow. These are not OPINIONated news show and not real news? They are the equivalent of Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and Huckabee.
Yet the administration has no problem sending their people to MSNBC where it is friendly with softball questions and just as opinionated news as fox, just the friendly left confines.
Re: White House at War w/ FOX News
I dont have any trouble with adding MSNBC, CBS et al. to the list of biased networks... Fox has a different issue in that their bias influences their 'news' content, and they blur the lines between what is being presented as opinion and what is presented as news. Even the pure news stories on Fox editorialize...
I'm not defending MSNBC or anyone for that matter... NPR and BBC are the nest news programs in the world... BBC has US and world news available on cable... NPR is everywhere via radio (it's pledge week, fwiw).
The topic here isnt to discuss the left leanings of other networks, but the O.P. posted the idea that (in fox's view no less), Obama had declared WAR on fox news, when I really see it more as the president ignoring them and stating unequivocally their reasons for doing so. It's fox that declared this activity as "war".

Neither am I.
It's plain to see that the administration is questioning content and conduct, exactly where Fox News' methodology has gone astray from objective news reporting. At this point they are in denial, and are failing to grasp the consequences.

So the Prez is right to not go on Fox and equally as right to go on the leftists networks and do nothing but criticize them. Humm, new responsibilities for the president that I wasn't aware of.

I dont recall saying that... if that's what you think, thats cool. To call everyone but Fox "leftists" is a little bit of a stretch yea?

Reminds me of a song by the New Radicals - Jehovah Made This Whole Joint For You
I used to think Carolina was a symbol of one of those tree-huggin' hippie liberals... now I'm not so sure.
Anyone else like the New Radicals?
