It's plain to see that the administration is questioning content and conduct, exactly where Fox News' methodology has gone astray from objective news reporting. At this point they are in denial, and are failing to grasp the consequences.

At least Kromie, you are predictable. When you have no argument, make an ad-hom comment... no, wait, an ad-hom attack.
why are you declaring war on us?
I am starting to think that all of these attacks belie a wounded position and you are hiding something...

Well, with so much insight, perhaps you should be able to tell us why Fox News would declare that the Obama administration is "attacking" them.

We're finishing up the 3rd page of you and Pez telling us why it isn't, so it's pretty much a moot point as this stage isn't it?

The Obama administration is acting like a bunch of cry babies because they can't take a little criticism and you and pez are getting your panties in a tizzy defending the adminstration. It is was it is. A bunch of babies.

Ignorant too. I don't watch Glen Beck and I don't listen to his radio show. If it ain't sports I don't watch it. Maybe if you paid more attention to detail you would notice how childish the Obama administration is acting.

I'm not defending anyone... my stance is that the president making himself available to Fox would be a very dumb move. Would you prefer your president be stupid?
You are certainly downplaying this... there's a great deal more at stake here than 'a little criticism.' I would likely characterise it more as a 'large amount of biased criticism...' The Fox bias against the administration is not in doubt. Even the conservatives on this thread have admitted that.

Obama brought all of this on upon himself. I watch Foxnews and I agree the opinion programming, Beck and Hannity, are against him but that is because they are conservative. I don't watch either of those shows because I can't stand it. I do watch Fox and Friends in the morning and O'Reilly in the evening and whether you believe it or not they are reporting news. For Obama to label them as a non-news source is a joke.
Just for kicks, I watched Olbermann and Madow the other night and they just gleam with joy whenever they take a pot shot at the republicans. Obama doesn't lable MSNBC as a non news sources does he? He's obviously trying to manipulate the media because he can't take criticism.
According to the ratings, the Foxnews channels blows away MSNBC, CNN, and other cable news combinded when it comes to viewership. Does Obama think all Foxnews viewers are stupid or are right-wing nuts? Obama should be spending his time working on the healthcare issues, Afghanistan, Cap and Trade, and other issues that impact the country even if he is on the wrong side of those issues instead of acting like a baby. My stance is with the legislation he's trying to ramrod through and his unwillingness to listen to his appointed generals in Afghanistan, he's already being stupid.

I think this administration is concerned about the contextual clarity of it's communication. I think this is a rather important thing to be concerned with. You call association and appearances on Fox "criticism". I call them traps, or setups for a punking. Did George "W" ever appear on a Fox News talkshow while he was in office? Cheney? Beuller?

Clarity is the furthest thing from this administration. Where's all this "transparency" Obama promised? Non-existent.
You comparing President Bush to President Obama is laughable. Point out one clip where President Bush decided to boycott a news network, call them non-news, and then warn other news outlets to not follow the same path. Then you can have a comparison.

Maybe I'm missing something. It's not "criticism" of Obama for not appearing on Fox News. It's his decision to blast the network. Did George "W" ever blast a network that was supposedly biased against him?meta4 wrote:You call association and appearances on Fox "criticism". I call them traps, or setups for a punking. WTF is "blast"? Is that more battle-speak? The administration scrutinizing the quality and conduct of Fox News... isn't this the exact thing Fox News wants to do to The Obama administration? Star player pissed off because he's benched this quarter?

"Scrutinizing the quality and conduct of Fox News" is a farce. "The Obama administration acting like spoiled babies" is much more accurate.

Re: White House at War w/ FOX News
So you are arguing against my vocabulary? I'm pretty sure you know what "blast" means in that context. It's a president going against a TV channel. Almost like if Tom Henry decided to single out the New Sentinel if it wrote a negative article about him. Face it. Obama started this mess.meta4 wrote:Markwes wrote:Maybe I'm missing something. No war against your vocabulary. Just noticed your particular choice of words. Nevermind...
But, you sound like you're spinning this as a personal vigilante act by Obama. I see it come out through the administration team. What does Barack Obama think as spoken through the mouth of Mrs. Fox News... Ok, the more we talk about it, I am beginning to see that, in fact, he IS taking this personally. (sarcasm)
You seem to keep trying to push this as something that originated from feelings of insecurity. IMO, this is generally common knowledge - we've certainly discussed the topic of Fox News's content here several times, I know I have. It seems like the levee finally broke and Fox News is flooded, yet still holding a megaphone and a playbook. Tell me what to listen to... what HE personally has said... quotes, sources cited, sound clips for extra credit. Be my Fox News because I need someone else to put this in context for me, personally.

Re: White House at War w/ FOX News
Here's what sizzles my bacon about this...it really concerns me when you have an administration telling other news organizations what they should or should not do with FOX News, especially when it comes to the situation this past week where the admin tried to leave FOX out of the press pool when the "Pay Czar" was made available to the White House press pool. I'm glad the press pool stood up for FOX and said that if FOX wasn't included then they didn't want to be part of it. Really, do we want a president telling us who we should or should not watch?
I have no problem if Obama and his cronnies don't want to appear on FOX News. But I think they're missing an opportunity to talk to a segment of the population out there to try to win them back/over. Heck, I had a lot of R-E-S-P-E-C-T for Barack when he appeared on Bill O'Reilly's show last year. That wasn't so bad was it?
I don't expect Obama to appear on Hannity or Beck, just as I never expect(ed) Bush to appear on Olberman or Mathews or Maddow...
