Obama under fire on "bitterness" remark Empty Obama under fire on "bitterness" remark

ok... it took a while to find the text, but Obama said this:

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them, and it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Hillary and McCain are all over him for this. I read the comment and think that while it could have been said considerably better, it's an honest sentiment. The Hillary camp seems to be playing this as if he screamed like Howard Dean... Does anyone else think that McHillary is making too big a deal out of this?

Pez...check the "Is Obama an elitist?" thread in this section. We're talkin' about it there...
