NOLA new mayor

Nice to see Ray Nagin gone from the city. He never had a clue as to what he was doing there before or after Katrina. It is surprising to see Mitch Landrieu winning. Hopefully he will do the city right.

I just hope Mitch doesn't spout off and say that 'we can make this city vanilla again'.

My original title was "NOLA chocolate city no more" but I really didn't want race to be the head line.

With his connections in Washington he should succeed (he is the brother of Mary Landrieu the senior Senator).

I guess I had the impression that Nagin was very well liked by the locals, but not so much by anyone else. I'm kind of suprised to hear he is a gonner. I too thought he could have handled some things in a better way.
