16 people standing in Line this morning at the polls. Cant wait to start hearing some of the results. I think Obama has NC in the bag, and with Indiana being a dead heat, Obama could easily take both states and shut this bug eyed cackling fiend the hell up.
I agree about the election result prediction/hope.
What could we employ those 40,000 people at though? It's a great idea in theory, but that's 40,000 jobs that would actually need to be doing something, other than just collecting a check.

How about we put them to work building downtown baseball stadiums in cities across America in the hopes of 'revitalizing' the downtown???cardinal5150 wrote:What could we employ those 40,000 people at though? Re: Presidential Race
i was sure during her "victory" speech in indy last night she and bill and chelsea really looked awful. beat. not just exhausted, not just stressed. not just that if they win it will be only within a few points. really beat. the time has come for her to bow out gracefully. if she doesnt play nice for obama until after the election in november her political career will be completely over imho.

Re: Presidential Race
The Clinton's don't give up, they are still hoping for another BIGGER scandal to break on Obama. Hell, the Clintons weathered how many scandals during Bill's run for office and during his term? They are not going any where, but the writing is on the wall and FAT lady (put me in drag) is singing, not warming up, but singing!

Re: Presidential Race
Indiana has spoken, and Hillary is the choice! She would have won a long time ago if she had a catchy slogan like Obama. Or how about one like Mitch Daniels. Just imagine "My Woman Hillary". Okay, I just made myself throw up.

It doesn't appear that she is either (again).
Clinton lends herself $6.4M as Obama's lead grows

Is the DNC going to push her out or are they going to let her go to the convention?

The feckin' super delegates need to get some of that Clinton testicular fortitude and make a decision. Too many are afraid to offend The Clinton's ... damn people, lets end this. Tim Russert has called Obama the Democratic Nominee. Pat Buchanan has called Obama the democratic nominee. Joe Scarborough has called Obama the democratic nominee. Keith Oberman, basically Chuck Todd ...
The fat lady is singing Hillary ... you look silly. Hope she is reading this message board.

uh...she took over every slogan he came up with.
i see 4 possibilities for her at this point, because i am sure she is well aware its not going well for her.
1. she will forge ahead with a more party-unifying message, be morecivil to obama camp, focusing on a message saying mostly they are in agreement on the issues here and there..and behind the scenes seeing what role she can play in his administration (i dont think it would be much of a role-he wont allow deviciveness), and bow out gracefully tossing her support to him and pleading for her followers to vote for him rather than mccain..and grudgingly admit he will do very well as president.
2. she will have some kind of personal crisis such as bill or her mom just cant physically take the strain and she must bow out and focus on her family...again ceding obama will do great and a plea for voting him in to her followers.
3. she will have a slow and consistant meltdown before our eyes as she plows forward because she has not developed coping skills for graciously LOSING.
4. she will split off the dem ticket after they dont let her have all her fla and mich votes, saying she just cant support a party that doesnt care about millions of voters...and she will continue her run as an independent. and ruin her and baracks shot in one fell swoop. i think this is a real possibility. uh...is a nominee allowed to change party affiliation midstream like this?

Re: Presidential Race
Not sure but I heard on the radio that one of the superdelegates is selling his vote for 20 million and also he says that the money will be used for educating the Hispanic voters into registering to vote
I also believe that she will(Biliary that is) stay in the race till the end and also I see her pulling a race card out near the end of it all

She pulled the race card out yesterday ... hard working WHITE Americans support here.
Hillary will still be saying she is more electable on the day we swear Barack Obama into the White House in January 2009.

Re: Presidential Race
Hillary has been making comments lately about how she would support Obama and expects the same from him if she wins.. to date I haven't heard Obama's camp mention defeat at all. I really don't see how she can think she's doing something positive here. But hey, I hope she stays in and buys votes just to screw up everything.
I do have a question though, how exactly are the super-delegates legal? This is the dem's version of the electoral college, they don't trust the public to elect their candidate, so they'll do it for them.

Re: Presidential Race
That was my point from an earlier post. They complained that the electoral college costed them an election and yet they use something similar for their own candidate.cardinal5150 wrote:I do have a question though, how exactly are the super-delegates legal? By the way, this is a pretty good article about how Hillary screwed up. I like how her chief strategist didn't realize that getting the majority vote in a particular state isn't a winner-take-all as far as delegate counts as it is with the electoral college. Nice hiring there Hillary!

Re: Presidential Race
Its all over Obama is the nominee
Also I see this Obama guy getting the white house unless the republicans steal it again like they did twice before.
But if its a landslide how could they?
I know a bunch of republicans do not like McCain and do not want 4 more years of a Bush clone and I'm talking lots of them have said this to me.
This will be something to see someone like Obama in the white house I'll bet the kkk
and the skinheads are freaking out!!!!!!! loool
The real question here is " Can this be blamed on Doe

Re: Presidential Race
How'd the Republicans steal it twice before? Are you talking about 2000 when Gore won the popular vote but not the electoral college votes? Too bad. That's like saying the 1960 Yankees should've won the World Series against the Pirates because they scored waaaaay more runs against them. Problem is, it's not necessarily about the runs you score, it's about how many games you win. And the fact is the Pirates won 4 games and the Yankees 3 games.Mort wrote:Also I see this Obama guy getting the white house unless the republicans steal it again like they did twice before.

Cincy the republiCONS disinfrachised Ohio voters in 2004 .. just ask John Kerry and John Edwards.

Re: Presidential Race
Cincy, unfortunately that's the mindset of many in this country. If my candidate didn't win, than it was "unfair". If someone else makes more money than me, it's "unfair", even though that person pays way more in taxes. If I'm accused of a crime and I can't afford the best representation, it's "unfair". This country is slowly turning into a socialist state, and you can go back in history and see how that has never worked. Okay, I got off a little tangent there, but hey, that happens.Cincy Fan 44 wrote:How'd the Republicans steal it twice before? Mort wrote:wasn't that a joke?
Yes it was an attempt at being funny and someone the fearful right wing is trying to make it look real. They will be playing this sound bit on fox news repeatedly. Where are the quips on fox news about McCain getting confused talking about the sunni's and shiites in Iraq/Iran? Where is fox playing that quote of McCain saying "you could make a case that people are better off today economically than they were 8 years ago" ... typical right wing stuff here. They have nothing on Obama.
