The World Cup
Is anyone watching the World Cup? My work schedule has been odd lately. I've been managing construction overnight and have been at home to watch the morning and afternoon games. I'm not a big fan of soccer, but I enjoy watching the games kind of like watching some of the Olympic games every 4 years. I can respect the game and appreciate the talent of the players, but I have to complain. Every play, the guy dribbles the ball down the field and as soon as a defender barely touches him, he falls to the ground and rolls around and screams like he just got shot. Then as soon as the ref blows the whistle for a foul, the guy jumps up and is ready to go like nothing ever happened. It's really pathetic. I usually have the games on the TV while I'm napping, eating, cleaning, etc. But there are 3 games that I actually watched for a significant time. Those three games ended up 0-0, 1-1, and 0-0. And what the hell is "nil"?

Re: The World Cup
Haven't watched but 5 minutes...
It's seems like some in the sports world 'feel' as if we should be glued to every moment of every game, but I'm sorry I simply don't watch those sports that I have no interest in even if the US has a team playing or not. It's kinda like Golf, never watched much or played the game either, but we take our grandkids to Putt-putt, so does that count?

Like LTRT...I haven't watched very much of it either. I guess I'd rather watch my Reds baseball games than watch Soccer.

YES. I've been watching a little bit and this does seem to be a problem. I still enjoy watching, but if I was really adamant about my team, I would be fuming constantly.
Also, I would hear the tonal buzz of vuvuzelas in my sleep.
