Got a question...
If a white guy is born in Africa and legally immigrates to the United States...is he considered an African-American?

I suppose it depends whether he has a (D) or (R) after his name.

He most certainly would be an african-american. Provided he became an american citizen.
Although, the term african american has a special meaning when it is used to describe a black person. Typically a continent is not used as an identifier expect when used to describe black people, where the country of origin is indeterminate. So in the hypothetical, the white person might be decribed as a Kenyan-American, much in the same way we dont call those of german descent European-Americans.
I personally dont Like the term african american and dont use it.
