What is the best video games to play for a PSP beginner?

I'm planning on getting a PSP for my birthday. It's basically just for the movies and music but I kind of want to start playing video games. I haven't played any since Spiderman and that was a very long time ago. I'm not sure which are the best games to start out with? I really like Grand Theft Auto? what others can I start out with?
