This is religious persecution, plan and simple. I cannot believe that it's not plainly evident to everyone, even more, I cant believe that Imam Rauf is being labeled an extremist by the right wing media, who conveniently forgets the fact that he served under the Reagan administration to help improve islamic relations...
Yeah and Osma Bin Laden was supplied and trained by the U.S. and used to fight against the Russians when they occupied Afghanistan. Point is things change.

Are you saying that now this Imam is a terrorist based on the point that we once believe that Osama was a good guy? (I'm not on record that we believed that)

Sry man... didnt realize I was being dumb (I guess if I realize that it wouldnt be so). Just trying to understand your comparison between our relationship with bin Laden and the mosque, and I'm not sure if your comparison is meant to be comparing bin Laden to Muslims in general, the mosque itself, or to Imam Rauf.

All I was saying is relationships change thru time. Just because someone was friendly at one time doesn't mean they stay friends. Whether that be people, countries etc.
Re: The "ground zero mosque"
Read a story yesterday that spurred some thought around this. The question of the 'Islamic center near ground zero' really boils down to our national identity. Do we want to stay America, or become something else?
