Colts vs Texans
Season opener on Sunday in Houston at noon -- I'm thinkin' this is going to the Texans. (no, seriously)

Unless there is a defensive disaster on the Colts part, I think the Colts will continue to have their number.

Yea, they are 15-1 lifetime against the colts. They are improving, but frankly, I will believe it when I see it. The colts are better than the Texans, by a lot. Sure it's possible that they might melt down, 15-1 indicates to me it's not very likely. Oh, and the year the Texans beat us, it was the year we won that game... what do they call it???... oh... the Super Bowl.
Houston, OTOH, has never even smelled a playoff game.

Hey, this acronym I could figure out all by my lonesome; thanks.
The closest Houston has come to a Super Bowl is when the former Oilers/new Titans lost in the big game. Doesn't count for Houston, of course.
I just have a feeling.....

Great game. (of course, I suppose it depends on your viewpoint.)
It is amazing to me how the Colts can come back so quickly. (glad they didn't, in this case.)

Ouch, crow and coffee isn't exactly the breakfast of champions. Houston fans have to be stoked. They outplayed the colts in nearly every aspect of play. Can you imagine what Arian Foster's parents are thinking after he laid down a billion yards on opening weekend in his first NFL start?

No haters here..... just a Texans lover. They did look great. Hard to imagine that Peyton Manning had over 400 yards passing, and still lost.
Houston Chronicle had a great article on Foster.

Foster's career day fuels Texans in opener
By RICHARD JUSTICE
Copyright 2010 Houston Chronicle
Sept. 13, 2010, 12:39AM
In the beginning, the Texans were blunt with Arian Foster. To make it in the NFL, he would have to change.
“There weren’t a whole lot of people saying good things about him at the University of Tennessee,” general manager Rick Smith.
There were questions about Foster’s attitude and his personality and maybe even his work ethic.
“Apparently, some people thought I was a (jerk),” Foster said.
Apparently.
To make matters worse, he wasn’t productive on the field his senior season at Tennessee. NFL teams will take a chance on almost anyone if they think the guy can help them win, but Foster didn’t seem worth the trouble. ....

Colts defense was miserable. Texans came out to play. The AFC South should end up being a very interesting division this year.

Miserable? Well, maybe. Or could it be, perhaps, that the Texans came out with a running game no one expected? I certainly didn't.
Should be interesting against the Redskins next weekend.

True, not meaning to take anything away from the Texans game plan or their play. It was torture to watch that guy run time and time again for 6-7 yards.
...and Pez, don't talk bad about Bob yet. He'll still hit you with his cain.

Everyone was surprised By Arian Foster, it seems any time an AFC running back has a break out game it's against the Colts. Houston beat us and beat us badly. Peyton had 400 yards passing because he's the best player in the NFL. His team still lost because the colts sucked in every other aspect of the game...
Garcon dropped 4 of his first 5 passes, including a TD ball that he got two hands (hands, not fingers) on. The offensive line made it impossible for Addai, who will likely be on dancing with the stars in the near future (has the moves for it). Our secondary got torched by the texans over and over, the only bright spot I remember was Bullitt's pick. While the root cause was a bad decision by schaub, Bullitt did his job and executed. Bob Sanders also did his job and was injured early in the 1st quarter.
The texans OLine manhandled us... just played spectacular ball.

The one bright spot for the colts is at least it won't be the coaching staff taking away the perfect season this year.

Re: Colts vs Texans
Not really the right thread for this, but what the h3ll.......
Wow, Colts completely dominated the Giants last night. Does that mean the Colts are just amazing (and losing to the Texans was a fluke, or a case of underestimation), or the Giants are overhyped? Or both......
And, how 'bout dem Texans? Not that this Board is the right place for this as Scooby might be the only other person who even remotely follows them, but dang, although they looked pretty crappy in the first half, they looked pretty damn good in 2nd half and OT. Interesting call that Kubiak made to punt in OT rather than kick a FG. The commentators were going back and forth, but I think it was the right call. Rackers has made a 55-yard FG, but that was back in 2004. Redskins would have had too good of a field position had they kicked and missed.
Someone on here has Schaub as their QB -- have to think you scored pretty damn well in your league. But I don't participate in a fantasy league, so don't know all the nuances.
Whoo-hoo! Watch out, Cowboys! That will be an interesting game this next week. I cannot believe Dallas is 0-2. It's a home game for us, but Dallas will be pretty motivated.

Re: Colts vs Texans
The Texans have improved dramatically... I would be selling my own team short if I said beating the colts was a fluke. The Texans outplayed us... the Giants made some perhaps questionable moves on defense in the off season, and they had a very poor game plan that allowed that continually double dog dared the colts to run... I think Addai had 66 yards in the 1st quarter, and they kept playing dime over and over.
There were some tweaks to Addai's approach as well, I saw him hitting the gaps on the stretch with a lot more decisiveness and power... And they were not afraid to run up the middle behind Big Sat and Richard (the latter being a big surprise). Addai was very close to tacking 100 yards on to his total when they had pinned us deep with the awesome special teams play on the punt.
[GD] Donald Brown looked better than I've ever seen him, I think most of that is likely because he didn't have to block much.
