Where is the leadership?

How is it that no one is standing up and saying what is obvious... that taxes must be raised, and raised by alot.

Why? To balance the Federal Budget?

Why not cut spending on programs that are worthless or corrupt? Why are people with Food Stamps using it to buy lobster and shrimp when I'm struggling and buy hamburger? Put limits on what kind of food you can buy with Food Stamps.

What about stop sending money to other countries and their abortion clinics?

I guess the bigger question is...why is our government (both parties) so corrupt and spending money we don't have? Why?

And I agree Pez...there is no leadership in Washington right now. It just feels like everyone there is in way over their heads. Makes you wonder if it's always been like this and it's b/c of the information age we're in that people are waking up to the lack of leadership?

We have to do both, we have to even cut defense spending. To not to both is like insulating a house and then taking the doors off. You hit the issue right on the head... the government is corrupt, and continues to lie to us. We don't have this money we are spending... period.

ok, I did what you said (sry it took so long, I haven't used my bong since college and forgot where I put it. I had to use tinfoil and an apple.)... we still have to raise taxes and cut spending. No one is stepping up to do either.

I could probably live with higher taxes if it doesn't mean Congress deciding to pick and choose. As in raising it for the small business owner who reports that he "makes" $500 thousand a year, which is used to pay employees. Or let's raise taxes on cigarettes, booze, and fast food because we at the government know what's best for you. Or raise the sales tax for the buyer of my car, a car that I already paid a sales tax on.

POTUS calls Americans "enemies"

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday he should not have used the word "enemies" to describe his political opponents as Republicans sought to make an issue of the comment a day before congressional elections.

Obama, in an interview with talk radio host Michael Baisden, said, "I probably should have used the word 'opponents' instead of enemies."

He was backtracking from a comment he made a week ago in an interview with Univision radio in which he sought to persuade Hispanics to vote for Democratic candidates instead of Republicans.

"If Latinos sit out the election instead of, 'we're going to punish our enemies and we're going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us' -- if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's going to be harder," Obama had said.

Maybe this just demonstrates what happens when the POTUS goes off-teleprompter...we get to hear how he really feels???
