State of the Union
Jobs, debt, education, taxes.
I'd like to see 40% cut from the defense budget. I'd like to see taxes raised. It's time to make the tough choices for which this president was elected. I did vote for Obama in order to see Jesse Jackson cry. It's time to do your job and force the tough choices we obviously MUST need to make.
I have faith that if Obama musters the political will to make such tough choices, the electorate is smart enough to not throw him out on his arse.

No to your 40% cut in defense. Cuts in defense yes, like the dual engines for the f35 that Bayh fought for because it saved jobs in Indiana. Congress stop forcing the pentagon to buy your pet projects just because the plant is in your district.
Yes to a fairer tax system. Whether a flat or national sales tax with the abolishment of the income tax. It isn't right that 47% of Americans pay no income tax. Get rid of the different tax rates.
Get rid of the department of education, it is not needed. Send it back to the states to handle.
No new spending, discretionary dollar amount frozen at 1.1 trillion dollars. Any revenue above the dollar figure not used for mandatory programs (SS, medicare, interest) goes to pay back the debt.

So you pretty disappointed in the speech Pez? All I heard was spend more about 10 times for every 1 mention of the word cut. He still doesn't get it.
Re: State of the Union
Oh look projected 1.5 trillion dollar deficit...but lets just freeze gov't.

And of course Harry Reid says SS isn't in trouble don't have to do anything. Of course that 2% in out paychecks this year is only going to increase the problem.
