15 year old girl killed in Bangladesh

k... sry for the downer here, but...

14 year old girl is accused of having an affair with her married cousin. She is sentenced to receive 80 lashes (with what I'm not sure). A WEEK after this sentence she dies IN a HOSPITAL. The local yokels did an autopsy and reported "no injuries." A national court ordered the body exhumed (sharia law is illegal in Bangladesh, as well as other places, like Oklahoma) and they discovered the injuries and noted the cause of death was blood loss.

I hate to foment on about something like this, but... lashing a 14 year old girl 80 times... What person in this planet has the stomach for that? Once, maybe, twice, maybe... but around about lash 30, 47, 58, 71... ???

Secondly, she is in a hospital and is essentially ALLOWED to bleed to death.

Finally, the man was also sentenced to 80 lashes, but somehow managed to escape during the punishment... he's since been rearrested, and faces an additional charge of, you guessed it... murder.

What a bunch of crap. But these are the types of people we try to "play nice" with in hopes they will start liking us.

This happened in rural bangladesh as I understand... would be like saying all americans marry their sisters because of what happened in west virginia.
