Dolphins sign Long

The Miami Dolphins have signed Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long to a multiyear contract and will select him with the No. 1 overall pick in Saturday's draft.

The contract is for five years, $57.75 million, with $30 million guaranteed.

For a second I thought this thread title was "Dolphin sing along"

And I am thinking "Okay what the heck."

I suspect he'll go on to have a stellar NFL career just like Tony Mandarich, aka "The Incredible Bulk." hehehehe

They did the smart move rather than taking a flyer on someone like Ryan. Parcell's has a great history in the draft, so I think this will work out great. I don't know that Long will turn into a Steve Hutchinson or Orlando Pace, but I think he'll be solid, and the fish need help on the line. If they didn't have Brown (and maybe Ricky b Ricky) it would have been a no brainer to get McFadden. But when you don't have anyone who can block for him.. what's the point.
