You're Super Bowl pick and other things

First who is your pick to win the Super Bowl Sunday? Have to admit I will probably be more interested in the commercials than the game. That and I have to work Sunday. I think the Patriots will run away with this game 34-21.

Next is Ben Smith just a Patriot hater or is he really that dumb of a columnist? Normally I don't read his columns but the title caught my eye last Sunday. The Patriots blew out there division yes it was weak division. The NFC east was just as weak but at least the Giants had to win there way into the playoffs unlike some Ohio team (sorry cincy). However saying Eli had to go up against much better QB's just doesn't fly with me. And the only receiver the Patriots have is there TE Gronkowski is hurt. Hmm must not know much about football. I seem to recall them having this slot receiver called Wes Welker. And he seems to score a lot of points. At least he did on my 2011-2012 championship team in fantasy football. (I have been humble long enough :-) ). While Eli is a top 10 QB (ouch that hurt to say) he is not one of the top three (them being Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Arron Rodgers. I will let you pick the order to me they could go in any order).

Next is what do you think about the occupy wall streeters and unions teaming up and protesting at the superbowl village. To me this just hurts their cause that much more. Want to paint a black eye on Indy and the superbowl will never come back. Not that it might anyway. They like the warmer climates for the festival, but this will surely seal the deal.

I think the Gianst will win with about the same but opposite score that Scoob posted. The Giants offense is clicking very nicely right now. And the Pats weakness is their defense. It will be interesting to see how Brady reacts to the pass rush that the Giants will bring. I see them having alot of quick passes to TE's and Welker to not give the Giants D-Line a chance to plant him.

I am not too interested in this game either. I'll watch, mostly becuse its the last football for 8 months.

Ben Smith is a Bears fan (I think) who happens to be a local writer for the JG. Alot of the stuff he writes, he does so to ruffle some feathers among the local crowds. I didn't read this particular column, but perhaps he was writing a somewhat anti-Pats column in a vastly anti-Pats area of the country to get fire up some of the Patriots haters?

I'm not really sure who to go with here. But I will say I'll be rooting for the Giants. As far as Ben Smith, I agree with IrishGuy that he just likes to get people riled up. Years ago he did an column about how cheerleading can't be considered a sport. Honked off a lot of cheer moms which can be quite dangerous!

Regarding the protesters, let people enjoy the game. Most of the crowd probably won't be from Indiana anyway and could care less about right to work here.

I'm with the "who cares?" crowd. Gives me an excuse to eat junk food and watch commercials that are better than usual.

So which was the best commercial. Kind of torned between 3 of them. Honda with Ferris Bueller, Clint Eastwood Chyrlser Jeep ad or the Volkswagon dog ad.

I guess the imported from Detroit makes more sense now since Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep are foreign owned.......

I thought the commercials were really lame this year. Admittingly, I didn't watch and listen at every break, but nothing really jumped out at me. I guess the Doritos one where the dog killed the cat and bribed the owner with Doritos would get my vote.

I think Kelly Clarkson did a great job on the National Anthem, Miranda Lambert and the other guy did a great job on America the Beautiful and although not necessarily my cup of tea, Madonna did well at halftime. MIA, <-- whoever the hell she is, is a douche.

my favorites were Matthew Broderick and Clint Eastwood. I thought the ads were pretty good this year, but nothing that stood out.

My good man...the Bengals won enough games during the year to qualify for the playoffs. Plain and simple. Next year, Dalton's Gang will ride far into the playoffs!
