edited to add that after the country version of 8 days a week... the lounge singer might be safe.
Both were safe ... David Hernandez went home. I thought Hernandez was bottom three (him, the blonde cowboy chick and the oriental girl) but I did not think he should go home this week. With the bottom three who were actually in the bottom three I would have guessed the 8 days a week blonde chick.

Re: American Idol
well, I guess the stripping and lap dances for a gay club lost him the fangirl vote but the country girl really sucked.

We're in the same category Shouldbeworking. Well, I watched one episode, I think that was two years ago. If I am watching TV I just skip past the channel showing this or any other reality show.

Re: American Idol
well, let's see..... the winners have been:
So this is the 7th season, but only the 3rd season we have watched. Out of the 3 years, this year is by far the most talented bunch. Can't tell you any other changes than that, really, other than the new stage.
In the past two years, my favorites were one of the last 3, but voted off before the finals. (Elliott Yamin, Melinda Doolittle.) Plus, I also really like Daughtry, but he got his revenge by outselling everyone else other than Clarkson and Underwood. And Yamin's CD has done pretty well also.
Paula just gets loopier and loopier every year, but this week she was really pretty coherent.
- Kelly Clarkson
Ruben Stoddard
Fantasia
Carrie Underwood
Taylor Hicks (the first year we watched)
Jordan Sparks

Re: American Idol
Idol premiered in the summer of 2002, I believe. I thought it was just going to be another 'Star Search' type of show. Guess I was wrong. Waaaay more popular than that.Canuck wrote:Bman wrote:Canuck wrote:Shouldbeworking wrote:I've yet to see an entire episode. Sad isn't it? Cincy...don't yell at me!!!!

I do know the first year they had 2 hosts...Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman. Not sure what happened with Dunkleman, but he must be loving life now.

Re: American Idol
Of course the winners would change.
Essentially, it is the same show for how many ever years. Only the winners change.

Exactly. If the formula works, why change it? It's been the #1 show how many years now?Canuck wrote:Of course the winners would change.

Yep, b/c we know a good thing when we see it. Michigan fans probably prefer the short-lived Martin Short Show.LTRT2 wrote:Cincy Fan 44 wrote:It's been the #1 show how many years now?

Negative. Careful, you're starting to sound like Hillary whining about why she is always asked the first question during debates...LTRT2 wrote:LOL, can't you give me more than "2" minutes of glory Cincy

Re: American Idol
I guess because I am not a big TV watcher, I find most of these shows boring.
That goes for any show really. not necessarily reality shows.
The only shows I watched almost weekly was X-Files and some 24.
Otherwise when I am home watching shows, I probably watch for about an hour or so and then leave it.
For about 8 years I did not subscribe to any cable companies.
Probably that is why I don't understand the craze over these shows. I don't get caught up in the mass media hype following them. That works for me.
I say to each his own.

Never got into X-Files too much, but I love 24. I got addicted to it in the 2nd season and haven't looked back. Was really disappointed that the writer's strike cost us this season of 24. Oh well, at least it gave Kiefer a chance to serve his time in jail.
Re: American Idol
I thought I liked 24 so much that my sister bought me all 5 seasons that were out on DVD. I didn't get the last season.
I haven't watched any of it so far.
It is a good show though.
The US elections going on now makes me think about 24...LOL. It feels like an episode.

Re: American Idol
I've watched one episode this season. I normally don't watch it, period, just because it doesn't appeal to me.
Judging from that one episode, I picked Brooke White to win it all.
She's still in it, right?

Re: American Idol
Yep, and I'd be shocked if she didn't make at least the Final 3. Her rendition of "Let It Be" from the Beatles the other night was a gem.Fleek wrote:I've watched one episode this season. I normally don't watch it, period, just because it doesn't appeal to me.

Re: American Idol
More crappy Beatles music tonight ... sheesh ... they get access to these songs and now they are going to beat them to death. I suppose before long we will have a Michael Jackson night ... yikes ... if they do too bad Danny Noriega is still not around, I think he could have sang a MJ song perfectly.

Re: American Idol
So who goes home tonight? The country sounding chick? I have something against that little oriental girl, just don't like her, I hope she goes home. I am guessing the final three will be that happy go lucky chick who sang Let It Be last week, David Archuleta, and the rocker dude with the guitar last night (david cook is that his name?).

Re: American Idol
I think KLC will go home (the one that butchered 8 Days/Week last week.) I like the Asian girl, Ramiele, but think the competition is tough enough she won't be around by the time it's down to five.
I can't say I'm a huge fan, but tattoo girl (Carly Smithson) will almost certainly be in the final 3. And David Archuleta, if for no other reason than the teenybopper vote, and Brooke White. I think David Cook will be gone when it's down to 4 or 5, but then again, who knows? I was shocked when Daughtry was voted off when he was, and that Taylor Hicks !!! won the whole shebang two years ago.
