Dirtiest Restaurant in town
Ok ... what it is the dirtiest most gross place you have eaten in Fort Wayne?

Re: Dirtiest Restaurant in town
Atz's on Anthony is pretty bad, the place hasn't been updated in over 20 years. I can say this b/c the former and I used to go there for ice cream back in the 80's and the decor is still the same. Sometimes when we frequent the place it looks like they haven't cleaned since then either. Went there back in early Feb and have decided not to go back.

Not the dirtiest, but the food at the Atz on Tillman was horrible. I've had better tv dinners.

Re: Dirtiest Restaurant in town
FeatherHead use to say he loved to have Saturday breakfast at the Atz's on Tillman Rd when he lived here ... I have never been there and making a mental note to not go to either place.

Some of the chinese buffets in town scare me. Oh, and what was that mexican buffet downtown on Jefferson (something like Central American Buffet or something?) it has since been torn down for the new home of the Wizards, I walked into that place and made a B-line back out the door.

Hey now ... don't you go raggin' on my "SUPER DELICIOUS China Buffet ..." hehe

Re: Dirtiest Restaurant in town
Gotta love a good Chinese buffet, but the one at ParkWest is DISGUSTING. After going once I vowed never again. Then I read in the restaurant health inspections that they pretty much failed inspection. I believe one infraction was a dirty apron used to cover raw food.

Does one of the newspapers post the inspections online?

Hey SunnyD, I was at the Parkwest GREAT WALL one day and the host dude was walking around swatting flies with a fly swatter and just letting them fall to the floor. I almost vomitted ... I have not been back since. Lon Sens usually appears pretty clean ... the one at Times Corners appears clean but some of the help looks pretty ratty at times.

Yes, if you search restaurant inspections on the JG's website you might be able to get them up. I had a bit of trouble at first, but finally found them...
Restaurant Inspections for 2/17/08
Be warned, the GW list is long and yucky.

SALT MINE
Halls has this Takeoka or what ever you call it above the Halls there on Clinton and can't remember
Its a copy of a Bennie Hanna's where they cook the food in front of you
OMG is so dirty I was in there delivering flowers one day when I walked in the lights were on and the dust and dirt was unreal
Now when you go in the lights are always down low,so you don't see it
And I call it the salt mines I ate there and everything had so much salt in it it was a joke
I won't eat at any salad bars or buffet's unless Jimmy's there
Long time ago I was at one of those and I saw people sneezing on to the food and saw one guy picking his nose and flicking it into the food
People lean over those and leave things uggggggggg no thank you please!!

The Hunan House on Coldwater road could use some work. The sad thing is I actually liked the food.

Re: Dirtiest Restaurant in town
Salad bars are a no no for me as much as I like salads
But I'd rather do that at home
People lean over salad bars and drop yummy stuff
Public salad bars have to rinse their salad with a chemical at the moment I cannot remember which one it is
no no !

Re: Dirtiest Restaurant in town
lol... coming from a former employee... Flanagans is the dirtiest place I've ever seen. All that crap in there collects dust, and NO ONE ever dusted. That stupid fountain thing in the middle came out a few years ago, and not because they wanted a decor change, because that thing was infested with bugs.
The kitchen was about like any other kitchen though, I don't think it was terribly dirty, just very little English spoken.

One of the good things about Columbus, is that the board of health now posts the results of the inspection on the door of the Restaurant. I love it.

That's because Buckeye's can't read, so they know it doesn't matter where they put it.
