My brother is a guitar junkie, and knew a friend of a friend that had an ad running in a magazine looking for a specific Les Paul guitar... he remembered (he's 40) that as a high schooler, a buddy grandmother had one sitting under her bed. What followed is a really long story, but he ended up getting the people together and the orignal guy that wanted it didnt expect the guitar to be in such pristine condition and couldnt afford it. It was eventually sold to another individual for $60,000

I wish I knew the differences in guitars, but I don't. I've had a drumset for over half my life now and I couldn't tell you the difference in a Tama versus a Gretch versus a Pearl. I know my Tama Swingstar sounds great, that's really all I care about. But I've always viewed it more as how I tune my heads than the drum itself. But, I'm sure the drum is a large part.

lol.. yeah.. but could you have had any idea that it would have appreciated that much?

I keep wanting to sell my drum set but I don't see it appreciating like a guitar, and everytime I play it I'm happy I didn't sell it. Plus I have no idea what it's really worth these days.
