I'm not sure how I understand the threat of the DC ban to the second amendment. I didnt agree with the ban, since it does seem to run counter to the second amendment. What I dont like about the court's decision here is that it is so broad that it opens the door for the overturn of bans on assault weapons, and armor piercing ammunition. Congrats to the court for upholding the constitution, shame on the court for doing so in such a heavy handed way.

That is which ever side didn't win calls it. Can be both Liberal and conservative.

I am surprise that it was as close as what it was, I was expecting a 6-3 or 7-2 ruling. They did leave it so there can be restrictions too it. For example you can't yell fire in a crowded building and claim it is free speach. I think you will still see the back ground checks, waiting periods and yes even some of the bans like assault weapons. Or at least put in place special licenses for people to have those type of weapons.
