Three Rivers Festival (I was going to type 3RF but not long enough title, so I should go on and on and on ....

I think we went one time since we've lived here. Not really our cup of tea. Evidently we weren't missing much. It is sad though b/c (in the past anyway) I always thought this was such a marquee event for the city.

Maybe if they scale it back ala German Fest???

We've tried going several times over the past ten years. We usually walk around, hoping that it's not as dumpy as the past years. We browse for overpriced food. Then we leave and go get some decent food for a whole hell of a lot cheaper than even one of us could have eated downtown. My hubby can get his overpriced elephant ear somewhere else.

30 yrs ago, the 3RF was bomb, course I was a teen and times were just different in FW... if FW stopped the 3RF all together, I would not lose sleep, I prefer German Fest and RibFest to 3RF.

i dont care if 3rf stays or goes. but reading thru all the posts here made me miss some good people. (that feeling of course does not extend to moon-doe-drop-leaping)

Anyone heard if the festival is really going to die this year?

jg did a story in last month or so where it was put under someone new and it will go forward. i didnt pay much attention frankly..

Yea, same here... we could dispense with just about everything except the fireworks and I would not be too upset. Well, I guess the fireworks could go too...

My favorite part was looking at the chalk artistry along Main Street (? can't really remember if that was the name) -- amazing what some people can imagine.

I understand the "who cares if it goes away" mentality given that it pretty much has sucked lately. But I would like to see it keep going with the hope that it will thrive again. This city really does need things to keep it desirable for young folks to live in.
