I saw this last night and wondered if the other 18 million feel the same way.

Re: Not quite the Unity
Saw this and it makes me wonder if Bill is going to be more of a hinderance to Obama than help.

Re: Not quite the Unity
I think people are worried about Billy boy's speech tonight.. but I don't see him hurting things. Most likely he knows he's got the power to swing the election, and if he comes out and gives a passionate speech to move people towards Obama he'll be able to say it's only because of him... and it'll feed his ego even more.
It's just a matter of how offended he is over the primaries.. which amazes me because he never liked his wife when he was in office.. what's changed that he should defend her now?

Re: Not quite the Unity
He needed her so he could back in the White House and wield the power he once had. She needed him because a divorce/separation would have looked bad, like she's not willing to do whatever it takes to make things work. At least that's my theory.cardinal5150 wrote:I think people are worried about Billy boy's speech tonight.. but I don't see him hurting things. Re: Not quite the Unity
I heard one of the WOWO guys make a great point yesterday... Michelle Obama had made the comment that Barack was qualified because essentially he was with his first wife, whereas someone who couldn't keep their house in order (i.e. McCain) isn't qualified to run everyone else's house. Then the other night she was praising Hillary.. not exactly sure how that one makes sense.. but hey.. it's always funny to listen to people change their tune.
I'm curious as to who McCain's VP is and how they'll turn whatever was said before into positives.

Wonder why the Democrats didn't want pictures taken of their VIP donors. Could it be big oil? Drug & insurance company reps?

Re: Not quite the Unity
i wont be taking a break from the board like bman, but i am kinda tired of all the microscopic bisecting of every comment anyone makes. i have played it too and i am taking a break from that.
i thought hillary gave a tremendous speech at the convention, and that bill couldnt have been more firmly unquestioningly supportive of not just the party, but of obama as a definately "ready" candidate..and also of the obama/biden ticket. cheers! the way the delegate count was handled was excellent, and will be remembered at all dem conventions going forward. i was proud of the clintons finally!!
most who continue to proclaim they are hillary-supporters-only, and now will vote mccain or sit it out, surely are the oxy-rush op chaos people who were never gonna vote dem in november anyway imho.

Re: Not quite the Unity
It's too bad she caved to the whole unity thing. It would've been nice to watch them fight it out to the bloody end.

Re: Not quite the Unity
Ah the power of television news. I was watching NBC Nightly News last night at 6:30, and a few minutes in, there was Hillary pledging (I guess) her state's delegates to Obama. Coincidence? Hmmm...floridafun wrote:LTRT wrote:It's too bad she caved to the whole unity thing. It would've been nice to watch them fight it out to the bloody end.

Re: Not quite the Unity
Abolish the electoral college, please.
Actually, I'll probably sell my vote this year if I can find someone to give me some money.

what happened was during the vote call, illinois passed (will be gotten back to before the count is final)--they have a boatload of votes..of course big time obama country. later another state--dont recall whether ky or va or somewhere in that area--passed their total count to illinois. at that time illinois gave their new total to ny. hillary had been ushered in to stand with the ny team. she expressed her appreciation (at that point most states gave her some but relatively few votes mostly--she had 300+ and obama had 1500+) and she did give her ny total to obama, then requested the voting be suspended as party rules permit, and the nomination be given to obama. i was quite sure when illinois passed it meant obama team was offering up his biggest count to her ny count--it wouldnt have been enough to bring her close to a win anyway. but it was a pretty good way to show unity..
