Colts Playoff Chances
Okay you Colts Fans...it's that time of the year when we Bengal fans are in envy of people like you. Except for one playoff game in Jan. 2006, there has been a generation of Bengals Fans who haven't seen their team make the playoffs.
Anyway, how far do you think the Colts will go in the playoffs this year? Will Addai be back? I'll root for them since they're geographically closer than any other team.

I think the Colts are known for their back pocket playbook. They'll surprise everyone.

Cincy, thanks to the choke job my Bears did against the Texans, I can join you in your misery. At least I'm not a Tampa Bay fan, who had to think the playoffs were in the bag 4 weeks ago only to lose to the lowly Raiders in the last week. I think the Colts have as good a shot as anyone advancing far into the playoffs. As much as I don't care for the Patriots, it's hard for me to see them miss out at 11 - 5 whereas the Chargers are in at 8 - 8. But that's divisional football, what can you say?

Gone in one...No way Manning should have been the MVP this year. Several other players helped there team more this year than Manning did, but when you have his PR machine real MVP's get passed over.
Re: Colts Playoff Chances
Who would you have made the MVP? Off the top of my head, Kurt Warner, DeAngelo Williams, and (gasp) Ben Roethlisberger come to mind...Scooby01_98 wrote:Gone in one...No way Manning should have been the MVP this year. Ed Reed of the Baltimore Defense, the whole defense is an animal but his 9 interceptions at key moments saved this team. Michael Turner even though he didn't do a good job last night, what he has done for Atlanta is incredible, and due to his running it took the pressure of rookie QB Matt Ryan. Ronnie Brown, his presence made defenses sit back and wait, improved a really lousy team to the playoffs.
Isn't the MVP suppose to be the best player that improves the team. Did Manning really play great through the whole season? Did his play really improve his team this year? To me his timing has been off all year, just an average year. He was my fantasy qb this year and he had alot of single digit games for me....
Re: Colts Playoff Chances
Turner and Brown are really good choices too. It seems to me a lot of times the MOST valuable player often gets overlooked in not only football, but other sports as well.
Re: Colts Playoff Chances
I thought Philip Rivers might have had a shot, but the 8 - 8 record probably took him out of the running.

Well yeah, and he also had a great year.

Can't argue with that choice either. The Vikes had split duty at the quarterback position between an unknown and another that was past his prime (and even his prine wasn't that great). And yet they were able to score points running the ball.meta4 wrote:Adrian Petersen - Min - MVP

Yeah. I can understand that it's a tough call. Manning did a lot for their team this year, but really... does he need to have it again this year? I think not. It seems to me that an award is meant to showcase and recognize "over and above" talent and effort, but did Manning really go over and above or did he play at the same level he's been playing?
The deciding question for me would be "Would I rather pick Peyton Manning for my FF team or someone else?"

Re: Colts Playoff Chances
After watching the playoffs this weekend of the 3 I would have chosen Ed Reed sealed the deal for me. 2 interceptions, 1 run back for a TD, changing the whole Dolphin game plan. It is horrible that defensive players are so overlooked when it comes to the MVP award.
Re: Colts Playoff Chances
Oops, I forgot one. I think Carson Palmer should have been the MVP. Granted he didn't do much due to his injury, but nobody can convince me he that the Bengals would've better off if he he wouldn't have been in there. So to me, he is the MOST Valuable Player hands down. If he wouldn't have been hurt, I could see where they would have racked up several more wins and probably even the division title...

I watched that play. I think I was standing for a good 4 minutes after that catch/touchdown. Couldn't agree more with your opinion of Def players. Neither Def nor Off can win a game without each other.

Ed Reed is a beast... I'd take half of an ed Reed over a Ray lewis any day of the week.
