Paid Sick Leave Act

A couple of bills have been introduced for this requiring businesses to offer at least a week (five days) of paid sick leave if the business employs over 15 people in your business.

While I am against government forcing a business to offer "paid sick leave"; there are too many businesses out there that not only don't offer any type of sick leave but give you demerits if you take any sick time.

I actually think the Dems and Repubs can come to an agreement on this by requiring companies to not penalize workers that get sick or have sick children to take care of by dropping the requirement it be paid sick leave.

And I think it makes sense for companies to offer sick days. At least 5 sounds like a reasonable number to start with. Really, do you want people coming in sick just so they won't be docked a day's pay? Then you have to worry about others getting sick and so forth.
